TotalBoat Marine Gelcoat for Fiberglass Repairs - White Gallon, Wax

Good

Really good gelcoat; I used a 2.5mm nozzle and a bit of thinner, about 1oz/pint of gelcoat. Watch the hardner, the label says at 75F use 78-82 DROPS of hardner per 4oz of gelcoat, do NOT transpose that into 320 drops per 16oz or you will have a 16oz white hammer head, and with thinner it will go to about 200F and actually boil - no bueno. Get a 5ML measuring glass tube and measure hardner carefully, check out Totalboat website too. MORE!!! On my 17'6" Whaler I used too little of this; I would say use 8-10 qts [depending on what you want and what you are covering] for this size boat. Reasoning; You must put coating ON to take coating OFF, to smooth, sand down using 1000 grit or 1200 grit to get that mirror finish. If there's too thin a coating, you'll be taking it ALL OFF [like a girl named Susan that I used to know] and never get it as smooth-mirror-like.

Easy to use. Works great

Good product

This product looked pretty good when catalyzed and sprayed. The generic-ish color match was close enough to not really stand out.

I had a lot of spider cracks on a 24' Trophy transom. I ground them out with a dremel and filled them with Total Boat Gelcoat. After sanding and polishing them out you can't even tell.

I made the mistake of buying a cheaper gallon of gel other than Total Boat and I paid the price. That gel sanded horribly and I went through way more sand paper than I should have. This Gel is always fresh and does the job great as always.

Easy to apply and stays on well.

Exactly what we ordered although instruction for use on the container would have been helpful.

I love the quality of the product. Under the right conditions it is very easy-to-use and work with. I would like to see it cheaper though.

livraison rapide et produit conforme. Bonne qualité

Good product, decent quality and finish. Not as tough as other gelcoats I’ve used but may have added to much or not enough hardner. Also only had about 8min of working time at 25 degrees C.

Poor customer service. The product took too long to ship and the price is very high compared to other brands. Do you research before buying. Also is good to know that this product Cannot be Returned once Purchased. Thanks
