As close to audiophile quality and unaltered sound reproduction as you can get over Bluetooth and my new favorite headphones
SummaryI am a big fan of Bluedio headphones and currently own (including the Vinyl Plus) 6 different pairs. These are the Turbine T2s, Revolution R2, Turbine T4, Turbine T4s, Vinyl Plus and Victory Pro.I have been wanting to own a pair of the Bluedio Vinyl Plus for some time as the look and focus on providing a true to the original recording sound profile.Given the selection I have at my disposal I could compare the Bluedio Vinyl Plus with other Bluedio offerings that span price points and features. However there is only one pair of Bluedio headphones that are a fair basis for comparison; the Bluedio Victory Pro.Ever since I received the Victory Pro as a Christmas gift in 2016 I have considered the Victory Pro with its 12 drivers to be the gold standard in what a high end pair of headphones (not just bluetooth headphones) should sound like. And to date none have come close to knocking the king from his throne. Will the Bluedio Vinyl Plus be the one to do so? Read on to find out.The Bluedio Vinyl Plus are yet another example of the outstanding engineering that Bluedio brings in the construction and sound profile of their headphones. And recognizing that people differ in their musical taste, genre and sound profile preference they have produced headphones that address specific market segments. The Bluedio Vinyl Plus are engineered for the sound purest who wants to hear the most from their recordings the way the artist and engineers wanted it to sound, without artificially emphasizing any one set of frequencies. They are as close to audiophile quality as I think you can get given the limitations of Bluetooth technology, mostly bandwidth, as it now exists. Each extreme of the frequency range (highs and bass) are clear, present in appropriate levels and reproduced true to the original artist's vision when the track was produced. These are a serious set of headphones for people who are serious about the music. Period. So do these dethrone the king of headphones, the Bluedio Victory Pro?Yes and no. Both are great for the type of sound they were designed to produce. The Vinyl Plus are now my favorite headphones for pure sound reproduction and for listening to classic rock, jazz and especially classical. It is most likely they will be my most used pair of headphones going forward. They are also the ones I will recommend to anyone who wants the best possible unaltered sound from their music with wireless headphones.I would also recommend them for those who like to shape their own sound reproduction using an equalizer. The Vinyl Plus give more latitude in what can be changed and by how much. But for those times I want to indulge in my inner bass-head the Victory Pro still reign supreme. Now for a more detailed look at what makes these headphones a winner for me and how I judged them.Packaging- Bluedio always takes its presentation seriously and the attention the unboxing experience is a mark of the pride they take in the products they produce.- packaged securely with nothing loose or out of place in the box- a place designed for each item to fit- magnetic flap closure for box a nice touch- the included hard case for the headphones and zippered pouch for the cords are amazing given the price pointConstruction- plentiful use of metal in construction- feels sturdy without being heavy- joints and pivot points do not feel they will break- the buttons showed little to no wiggle and have good tactile feedback- headband and ear-cup material of good quality being very soft and with ample paddingComfort- easily adjusted to a snug comfortable fit- for me these are ever so slightly over ear headphones but fit may be different for those with larger or smaller heads or ears- padding very comfortable and did not get too hot with extended use- ear cups provide a nice bit of passive noise reduction due to the thickness of the padding and the seal it provides on the earsEase of Use- paired easily and on first try (tested on several devices)- buttons in easy to reach positions and provide good tactile feedback- charging worked as expected and was able to change from laptop and generic USB charger without problems- easy to engage and disengage the 3D sound effect with a logical control sequenceBluetooth Quality- pairing was quick and easy on devices running IOS, Mac Os, Windows 10 and android- range is excellent I was able to leave my iPad Pro 9.7 playing and was able to walk into almost any room in my house, both upstairs and downstairs without losing the connection- no drops, skips or out of sync issues when watching videoSound Quality in Normal mode- listened to different genre(classical, pop, rock, jazz and hip-hop)- my usual music taste is leans toward music with multiple and complex layers of sound, preferring highs and vocals over exaggerated bass- overall sound profile is true to the original recording without reshaping the response curve to overly enhance any set of frequencies- crisp highs in classical music- vocals clean and balanced without being muddy- bass is present, pleasing and is what I tend to call appropriate. but these are not bass-head headphones. think of them more as studio or reference headphones, reproducing the sound the way it was recorded in a more pure form- could easily recommend for types of music listening- volume was able to reach levels high enough that I personally found uncomfortable when set above 50%- the soundstage is much wider than I expected and above average for any closed back headphones I have usedSound Quality in 3D mode- the 3D sound mode of the Vinyl Plus is interesting given the overall focus on sound purity- the effect does expand the perception of the soundstage but mostly for vocals- the other aspects of the music see little enhancement in 3D mode- it is not unpleasant and I do not consider it a gimmick but less likely to see use due to my personal preference- that being said it's actually very nice for movies and even gaming- in short, this setting should be tried and then make up your own mind if and when to use it based on your preferenceCompared to the reining champ, the Bluedio Victory Pro- the Victory Pro can produce much heavier bass and are definitely more bass biased- the Vinyl Plus are overall cleaner in total sound reproduction- Victory Pro can somewhat shape the sound reproduced due to its built in 3 presets EQ- the Victory Pro do not take as well to use of any other equalizer due to the bias of certain frequencies- Victory Pro can produce higher volume, but I find both pairs able to get far louder than I find comfortable- the Vinyl Plus a more audiophile headphone which Victory Pro targeted at those who like certain frequencies enhanced above the original recordingExamples of some of the music used in testing:Bach Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major - BWV 1007: Prelude - Yo Yo MaMozart Serenade No. 13 in G Major K 525 “Eine kleine Nachtmusik” : I.AllegroLimelight from Moving Pictures - Rush* Hotel California (live version from Hell Freezes Over album) - EaglesWicked - FutureThe Rainbow from Spirit of Eden - Talk TalkDreams from Rumors - Fleetwood Mac* New Frontier from The Night Fly - Donald FagenOrinoco Flow from Watermark - EnyaEruption from Van Halen - Van Halen* So What from Kind of Blue - Miles DavisKiss Me Goodbye from The Lexicon of Love II - ABC* these are what I use as reference tracks for push the most detail sound due to the exceptional engineering and depth in the recording

These are the best sounding Bluetooth headphones I heard so far ( I heard beats studio 2, Bose qc35, solo 2 and 3). The mids are excellent and the bass is strong enough. Wide soundstage. The even sound better than vmoda m100. Wired mode sounds slightly more crisp. More of a side grade. Battery life is good (a week or more) and they charge fairly fast. The thing I don't like is the fact that they are not comfortable when listening for over 40 min. Have to take them off a moment for a break because my ears hurt. Maybe because they are not truly over the ear (they rest in the ear somewhat). Maybe design the shape to be more oval like (to fit the ear better) or a bigger circle. I don't know. The audio cable is not well built. I'm wears out if you use it a lot.Other than that they are perfect.

A honest high quality headphone, not perfect but very good.
First of all I'm nowhere near an audiophile, all my opinion is not professional review, but I do own or owned some decent headphones for comparison, such as Philips Fidelio L2, Audio Technica M50X, WS1100, MSR7, SR5, SR6BT, Sony XB950BT, Sennheiser PCX550, Momentum 2.0I bought Vinyl+ because some YT video reviews, and I am not paid by Bluedio to review it.The things I like about Bludio Vinyl+:1. Outstanding sturdy build quality (even not real leather), easily surpass some $400 big brand headphones.2. Come with plenty of accessories, the luxury hard case itself worth at least $20 retail price. Unlike some big brands that being very cheap, Yes Audio Technica I'm looking at you.3. Sound quality is surprisingly good, especially when considering the price. Bass is, of course emphasized, but it is not muddy or overwhelming as Sony XB950BT. Meanwhile the mids and highs are clearly presented. The BT mode sound is good, when pluging the 3.5mm cable to my LG V20, the vocal become more forward and louder, the bass is slightly reduced but still very punchy. It is certainly designed for casual bass lover who still want vocal clarity.4. Clamping is on the stronger side, but the soft earpads make it comfortable enough to wear for long time wearing.5. This headphone can get pretty loud on BT mode, along with steady BT connection, and good battery life.6. Best passive noise cancelling among all my headphones, When playing at 50-60% volume, I can barely hear the loud mouth woman sit next to me on bus.7. Detachable standard 3.5mm AUX cable without annoying lock mechanism; Clip-On pad seems could be replaced by Bluedio. The things I DO NOT like about it:1. No AptX Bluetooth codec support. Really Bluedio? Even the difference might not be very noticeable to me, lacking of AptX would still somehow affect the BT sound quality.2. When I put it on, the side metal frames extend a bit too far from my head, make it high-profile and kinda awkward to wear on the street. The headband should be longer and curvier.3. Even the vocal part is clear and loud enough, it sounds slightly flat/dry, lack of the lively feeling and stages on my Audio-Technica headphones. Still acceptable though.4. Can't adjust earcups horizontally, not a big issue for me but might affect comfortability for some users.5. Volume control key location is awkward, should be placed at bottom or lower back side.Final thoughts: I'm pleased with my first Bluedio headphone. Bluedio should keep listening to the users and do more refinement to their future products. I wish Bluedio could finally break the prejudgments toward "Made in China" headphones.
