MP0515A 12V Car Battery Tester Automotive 100-2000 CCA Battery Load Tester Auto Cranking and Charging System Tester

I needed a battery tester that did more than just give me a "GOOD" or "BAD" reading. I need to know how good or how bad the battery is and this battery tester gives me all the info I was looking for - - it gives me measurements for Actual CCA (so I can compare that value to what the battery is rated for CCA), Actual Voltage, State of Charge (in percentage, not just a High/Medium/Low rating), and State of Health (also in percentage instead of generic High/Medium/Low rating). It also give another battery measurement I didn't need, Resistance in mΩ, measured down to one-one hundredth (2 digits right of the decimal). And that just covers the Battery Test features - - this multi-meter also does a Cranking Test when starting the engine, a Charging Test to check the alternator output, and a Ripple/Wave View showing a quick graphic of the output of the battery or alternator or power station you are testing. It even has a print feature to print the screen capture pictures you take. The User Manual gives clear instructions, making it easy to start using this tool just moments after opening the package. I'm impressed.

I work in an oil change shop and we test the battery for every car that comes in. The shop is equipped with a tester branded by a very popular battery brand, but their tester is a piece of junk. It’s enormous, like the size of 2 foot long hoagies next to each other, it constantly needs the clamps adjusted, it has an onboard battery that when dead renders the tester inoperable, and it gives false readings time and time again. So I decided to cut out the middleman and get a tester of my own. This little thing is excellent! It does so much more than the shop tester, it’s more accurate, it’s faster, it’s easier, it’s smaller, it doesn’t have to be charged, and it gives more information when a battery is bad which makes it easier to convince customers that they definitely need a new battery (note that I never push things to customers that I don’t stand behind and I genuinely care about safety and longevity of people’s 2nd largest investment). If you test 50+ batteries a day, pick this thing up immediately. If you need to test the odd go kart or ATV battery here and there, pick this thing up immediately. If you think your alternator is going bad and you don’t want to pay $160+ to find out, pick this thing up immediately.

Great piece of kit. Easy to use and with plenty of functionality at your fingertips. I felt compelled to check all the 12v batteries (tractor, UTV, lawnmower, cars)

You hook it up, follow the prompts, and in seconds you get a clear, easy-to-understand report on your battery's health. Honestly, knowing the true condition of my boat battery before I head out on the lake is worth every penny. If you own a boat or just want to stop worrying about a surprise dead battery, this is a no-brainer. Only nit I have is it doesn't have perfect english instruction, but that really wasn't an issue.

WORKS AS ADVERTIZED, tested 3 marine batteries, 2 starting batteries, 4 needs replaced, 1 at 30% life left. Should have got one of these years ago!!!

It's all you will ever need to test your 12 volt batteries and charging systems.Good quality and easy to use. It saved me money on my riding mower, instead of buying a new starter,alternator or solenoid I just exchanged a 3 month old battery for a new one under warranty.

This seems to work ok. It was easy to use. I tested 4 batteries. 3 were starting batteries and these tests ok. 1 was an 8D marine battery on my boat. It said this has only 25% capacity. I'm not sure if this was correct or a bad reading. Since this doesn't put a load on thr battery, it only can give a partial picture or the battery health. So I'll have to do more tests to see if the 8D battery reading was correct or not.

This unit is easy to use. The on-screen directions are easy to follow and direct. It provides all the information one would need to know about one's battery and charging system. Great value for the money. Seems to be well built and accurate. I liked it so much I bought one for my son.

Als ich versucht habe, das Gerät einzusetzen, hab ich mich als erstes gefragt, warum Automobilhersteller solch ein Geheimnis machen, welche Batterie eingebaut ist. Bei meinem BMW konnte ich die Daten des Niedervoltakkus nicht im eingebauten Zustand ablesen. Das Internet hat dann geholfen, aber das soll natürlich nicht das Urteil dieeses Batterietesters schmälern. Das Gerätegehäuse ist aus Hartplastik gefertigt. Der schwarz abgesetzte Rand könnte vermuten lassen, dass dort weicheres Material verwendet wurde, das ist aber leider nicht so. So macht das Gehäuse einen ziemlich billigen Eindruck, das Display ist aber sehr gut ablesbar. Es wird angegeben, dass es ein US-amerikanischer Hersteller ist, auf dem Pappkarton, in dem das Gerät geliefert wird, steht "Made in China". Da es keine weitere Tasche gibt, in der man das Gerät unterbringen könnte, wenn es nicht gebraucht wird, kommt man dafür nicht um die Verwendung des Pappkartons herum, das ist schade. Die Genauigkeit des Gerätes konnte ich nur bedingt prüfen, da ich keine Vergleichsmessung mit einem präzisen (Profi-)Gerät durchführen konnte. So konnte ich nur durch wiederholte Messungen des gleichen Batteriezustands feststellen, dass reproduzierbare Ergebnisse geliefert wurden. Das bewerte ich als sehr posititiv. Sehr gut ist auch, dass das Gerät vor dem Start der Messung überprüft, ob die Zangen gut am Pol anliegen. Wenn nicht, kommt eine entsprechende Fehlermeldung, und es findet keine Messung statt, denn ein zu hoher Übergangswiderstand würde das Ergebnis verfälschen. Die Energieversorgung des Geräts geschieht bei der Messung über die Fahrzeugbatterie. Das ist sehr vernünftig, denn man muss so keine vollen Gerätebatterien vorhalten oder darauf achten, dass ein eventueller Geräte-Akku ausreichend geladen ist. Wenn die Autobatterie zuwenig Energie für den Betrieb des Geräts liefern sollte, erübrigt sich eine Messung sowieso. Das Gerät besitzt einen USB-C Anschluss, damit Ergebnisse in Form von Screenshots an einen PC übergeben werden können. Dabei funktioniert das Gerät wie ein Wechseldatenträge. Mit meinem Windows 11 Laptop war zunächst nicht der Fall. Da immer wieder Rezensenten vom gleichen Problem berichten, hier nochmal eine kurzeSchilderung der korrekten Vorgehensweise: Windows (oder ein alternatives Betriebssystem) starten, Batterietester über USB-C mit dem Computer verbinden. Jetzt wird der der MP0515A mit Energie versorgt und startet. Auf dem Display "Print" auswählen, bmp-Datei markieren und nochmal Print wählen (Alle Aktionen mit der OK-Taste bestätigen). Jetzt stellt das Gerät eine Verbindung zum Computer her und wird dort als USB-Gerät erkannt. Jetzt kann man auf das Gerät als Laufwerk zugreifen und die bmp-Datei des Screenshots auf den Computer kopieren. Etwas merkwürdig, dass die Aktion unter "Print" läuft, aber vielleicht ist die Software bei Geräten mit Druckern identisch, und die Transferoption ist ein Ersatz für eine Druckfunktion. Teurere Profigeräte mögen sogar Ergebnisse in Textform ausgeben, sodass man sie für weitere Auswertungen in Tabellen kopieren kann, aber für die Zielgruppe dieses Geräts halte ich die Ausgagbeform für völlig ok. Es wäre schön, wenn in der Bedienungsanleitung besser erklärt würde, wie die Verbindung zum PC und die Datenübergabe durchzuführen ist. Ich vergebe aber trotzdem 5 Sterne und eine Kaufempfehlung.

Ho aspettato a scrivere la recensione di questo prodotto che abbiamo comprato quasi un anno fa e lo abbiamo utilizzato più volte. E' un ottimo prodotto. Ha veramente molte funzioni di cui le principali sono quella di verificare lo stato di salute della batteria e verificare se l'alternatore carica correttamente la batteria. Può anche fornire un grafico dell'andamento della tensione della batteria rispetto al tempo. Si accende collegandolo alla batteria che si vuole testare. Importante: prima di provare una batteria questa va caricata completamente. Consente di testare 5 tipi di batterie al Piombo: 1) Classiche acido liquido delle autovetture. 2) AGM Tablet: sono quelle a forma di box usate spesso per l'alimentazione dei servizi del camper o nei piccoli impianti solari 3) AG Winding: sono quelle che hanno una forma composta da vari cilindri tra loro accoppiati. 4) GEL 5) EFB sono quelle ad acido liquido, più costose perché hanno un particolare trattamento delle piastre, a volte installate sui mezzi dotati di start/stop. La sigla EFB viene riportata sull'etichetta della batteria. Scelto il tipo di batteria che si vuole testare va quindi impostata la capacità di spunto a freddo (CCA) tipicamente la corrente max che la batteria può fornire quando deve far partire il motore a freddo. Anche questo dato è riportato in Ampere (A) sull'etichetta della batteria e non va confuso con la capacità della batteria che è invece riportata in Ah. Ha correttamente rilevato che la salute della batteria originale della nostra macchina dopo 11 anni di onorato servizio era scesa al 30% dell'efficienza e infatti sotto 0° a volte non ce la faceva. Stesso discorso per la batteria di uno scooter che era scesa al 20% dell'efficienza. L'abbiamo provata sulla batteria AGM dei servizi del camper con capacità di 100Ah e CCA 800A. Batteria con tre anni di vita e trattata bene con cicli regolari di ricarica e desolforazione. Il test ce la da ancora al 100% di salute. Provata anche su una batteria (che ha un anno di vita e perfettamente funzionante) ad acido liquido della vettura, da da 95Ah e CCA 830A, anche su questa ci ha dato uno stato di salute del 100%. Peccato che il manuale sia solo in inglese. Comunque è un prodotto da 5 stelle. Perché penso che chi si mette a fare dei test sulla batteria e sull'alternatore sa cosa sta facendo e il manuale è dotato di molte immagini che aiutano a capire.
