Surprisingly awesome mineral sunscreen
Iโve been using this sunscreen daily for a little over two weeks now, and Iโm genuinely impressed. First, the texture: it comes out fairly thick, which initially made me think it might feel heavy or greasy. Thankfully, that hasnโt been the case at all. It feels hydrating and nourishing without being overly greasy, suffocating, or uncomfortable on the skin. One of the main reasons I purchased this sunscreen is because itโs completely mineral, which I really appreciate. Finding a good mineral SPF can be difficult because most zinc oxide formulas leave behind a noticeable white cast. This is the first mineral sunscreen Iโve used that truly leaves no white cast behind. That alone makes it stand out. I also suffer from seborrheic dermatitis, so skin compatibility is extremely important to me. Many sunscreens can trigger irritation or flare-ups, but this one has been wonderfully gentle. Iโve used it consistently every day for over two weeks and have experienced zero flare-ups or worsening of my seborrheic dermatitis. At this point, Iโm honestly enjoying this sunscreen enough that I may stick with it long term. It performs well, feels comfortable, and has been very compatible with my sensitive, dermatitis-prone skin. Highly recommended if youโre looking for a mineral sunscreen that is hydrating, cosmetically elegant, ot does leave a ever so slightly nice sheen on the skin which I like, and gentle on sensitive skin.

Smooth, easy to apply, no white cast
As a darker-skinned person, I have been on a mission to find a mineral sunscreen that is water-resistant with no chalky white cast and no sticky feeling AND no annoying fragrance. This one ticks all the boxes and it's very impressive that it wears so elegantly with 20% zinc oxide in the formula. I like to avoid the chemical ones, and I have found non-water-resistant mineral options that wear quite elegantly, but water-resistant options with an elegant wear had long eluded me. I'd love to always wear my favorite non-water-resistant spf, but unfortunately those are not so helpful for when you're at the beach/pool - on such days, I dread having to reach for the thick pasty gloopy water-resistant ones. I seriously wish I had found this sooner before spending on so many others that promised to be sheer zinc only to be the color and texture of white wall paint. My little one and I both have a medium brown skin tone so the chalky cast on most mineral spf turns us straight up grey/purple and worse yet, that grey purple cast lasts through multiple showers unless you seriously scrub it off your skin - not so great for kids or anyone with sensitive skin. So this one melts into the skin nicely with minimal effort and virtually no white cast. I probably wouldn't use it on the face as it's a little heavy for my oily/combo skin, but on a child's facial skin it would work just fine. It's not sticky at all, so if you're an adult with dry facial skin and/or don't mind a bit of dewiness, it could work on the face, too. I just prefer to invest in more lightweight elegant options for the face - and in general they seem to make more elegant formulas for the face in under 2oz sizes so they're not really applicable to the body, which is a bummer. While this isn't as small as the ones made for the face, since you need much more for the body, I wish it came in a 5oz size for the price. I have tested like 30 different mineral water-resistant options by now, and this one along with the C'est Moi sunshine sunscreen are the two best I've found. If price is a factor with this one, I would recommend checking out C'est Moi as it is similar in texture, also leaves no white cast, is also fragrance-free, is also completely zinc oxide formulation, and cheaper. Most importantly, if you have kids, this would make applying sunscreen on them much easier, since it's impossible to get kids to sit still for more than a couple seconds before they run off.

LOVE
I've tried so many sunscreen products. It's very important to me and I use it daily every single day of the year, rain or shine. Usually a product is good in many areas but doesn't check off everything on the list. This one is a pro to me for the following reasons... It's an elegant mineral sunscreen that doesn't sting my face or my eyes at all. My eyes are very sensitive so I must have a mineral sunscreen for that reason. Most mineral SS's are chalky, hard to rub in and don't work with makeup. The Blue Lizard SS was my HG for the longest time. I struggled with letting it go because I loved the sun protection it gave and I LOVED the mattifying capabilities. It was seriously like a primer. But the cons were it was just too thick and took too long to a) rub in, and b) dry down so I could apply my makeup. This is why I love the Cotz. It sinks in immediately and applies like a regular moisturizer. It's not mattifying but I'm fine with that bc of the other reasons why I love it. I have normal/combo skin and find I don't need moisturizer as this SS has a great deal of moisture. If you have very dry skin you might still need some underneath but I doubt it. On me it does not leave a white cast. It's not chalky. It dries down quickly. It's a great price and given the fact that we get 3.5oz instead of the usual pathetic 1.7oz this SS is so worth it in every way! If you're incredibly oily likely this won't work for you. But if you have normal, dry or combo skin then try this sunscreen. I've been so happy with it!

Good sun protection, but not as mattifying on oily skin
Overall a good sunscreen for someone like me, who has a very oily T zone, and has a very fair complexion. I've used a few other sunscreens over time with COOLA Mineral Sunscreen being my favorite. Compared to COOLA Mineral Sunscreen, it's not perfect,, but it's a better value for the amount you get. It's also way better than much of the mattifying sunscreens I've used before. See details below. CONS: -It is definitely NOT a dupe for COOLA Mineral Sunscreen. I usually use untinted, unscented COOLA Mineral Sunscreen, but it's a little too expensive, especially for the summertime. So, I decided to look for dupes. On reddit someone said this particular Cotz is probably a good dupe, and I purchased it. COOLA has mousse-like texture, whereas this guy is definitely like a cream. -It has some moisturizing abilities, but it's not fantastic, especially if you have sensitive skin. It's more on the oily side of things than water-based side of things. If you absolutely must use water-based moisturizers, I'd suggest going with COOLA Mineral Sunscreen. ---- PROS: -I apply sunscreen liberally and this thing absorbs into the skin within less than a minute. Leaves a very faint white tint, but that's the mattifying mineral stuff. -It's more mattifying than a sunscreen with that kind of viscosity. I've used Murad mattifying sunscreen (SPF 15) and that one is just god awful compared to Cotz. Even at 4 hours-post application, it is still managing to hide the oil my skin is producing pretty darn well. -Has a good amount of sun protection. It has some water resistance, but If you're having a beach day and soaking yourself in water often, I suggest using a sports sunscreen for your body and applying this probably every other hour or so.

Skin Safe and Beautiful Blend
This sunscreen is a godsend! I started suffering from perioral dermatitis, as well as fungal acne and other unknown skin reactions, in my late thirties. It seemed no matter what I put on my face, it was red and burning. I finally gave in to a "zero therapy" approach (aka nothing going on my skin) but living in Florida, I knew I had to find a sunscreen asap. Although I traditionally HATED mineral sunscreen, COTZ completely changed my mind. It didn't irritate my skin, cause any new breakouts, and blended out so beautifully. I'm a convert for life!

Favorite Zinc Oxide Sunscreen
I have been using this sunscreen for 7 years and I love it. It's my favorite sunscreen for my dry, sensitive, and acne prone skin. It's non-comedogenic, fragrance free, and only zinc oxide so it's not irritating, doesn't burn around the eyes, and doesn't break me out. I've tried many zinc oxide sunscreens and this one is hands down the best. It leaves very little white cast relative to most zinc oxide sunscreens. Many zinc oxide sunscreens claim to be sheer but it's a complete lie (looking at you Neutrogena Sheer Zinc). This one leaves a very sheer white cast that I think for most light to medium skin tone people wouldn't be an issue. If you have a deeper skin tone you might like their tinted options. Additionally this one does NOT pill or flake off like many zinc oxide sunscreens so you can easily reapply throughout the day, including over makeup, without the texture getting weird. The only complaint I have about this sunscreen is I hate how the volume is just large enough that it's not allowed through TSA in a carry-on. They should either reduce the size by 0.1 ounces or make it bigger so there's not as much plastic waste.

Not sweatproof!
I'll start by saying that for brown skin, this definitely leaves the least minimal white cast for a non-tinted sunscreen. It blends in beautifully on the skin. My issues with the sunscreen are that the moment you do sweat that whiteness appears terribly as you can see in the picture. Along my forehead I started to sweat, I live in South Florida and the moment you step outside you get hit with terrible humidity. So for the summer this may not be the best sunscreen for those living in hot and humid climates. I would also say if you have oily skin stay away because this honestly just is very greasy. My skin postpartum has changed from oily to dry so I don't mind the look because it makes me look dewy. You will need to good oil cleanser or cleansing balm to remove this. You will not be able to remove this with just regular facial soap.

Wonderful for sensitive skin and seborrheic dermatitis
I have seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff and red, sensitive skin) on my face, and other sunscreens can trigger this condition. This sunscreen works well for my skin. It's not easy to find a sunscreen that is safe for this kind of sensitive skin condition, so I appreciated that this sunscreen protects me from sun damage while not triggering seborrheic dermatitis.

I like Cotz skin tone SPF 40 but I needed a non tinted formula too. I love the fact if u rub this in well it doesn't leave a white cast and I'm white/black carribbean, so I have dark skin. The reason I have not gave this product more stars is because it makes your skin look greasy.. That's if u put a decent amount on and with sunscreen if u want decent protection u need to put a decent amount on!

Thick and grimy
It is expensive. Caused me to break out in spots ( and a pasty white face once the cream is on). It goes on rather like thick stage make-up and one has to rub quite firmly to distribute it into something "colourless" .
