Seems like a great tool for mashing. I use it to make hamburger patties. Unlike the picture, the masher is oval shape rather than round. I gave it 4 stars because the picture is not correct.

I purchased this heavy duty stainless steel masher which is great when I do mashed potatoes. It takes lesss than 5 minutes to smashed the potatoes. Very easy to clean. Love this product! Highly recommend it.

The Joyoldelf is super strong and will not bend. Perfect for mashed potatoes bean or avocado. I love that it coordinates with my kitchen colors. I highly recommend for strength and grip. I just throw in the top rack of the dishwasher to clean. See my pictures.

My trusty masher that I had for 60 years snapped at a thin spot. I don't like the wire mashers at all so I searched Amazon and found this one with similar sized holes as my old favorite broken one. On first use it turns out that it works just as good as the old one plus is an oval shape that seems to get to all of the potatoes better. The only drawback is the metal part protruding from the end of the handle. It keeps me from putting pressure straight down when using. I will have my husband grind that off as it's only purpose is the hole to hand on a hook; and who does that anyway? I expect that this masher will be able to have 60 years of use as it is very sturdy.

Box arrived undamaged, but product was bent like a crocked stickman, despite adequate bubble wrapping.. I think this was "re-gifting" a defective item or poor Q.C. The stink was eliminated thanks to a free and fast (<24 hr) replacement that is in good condition. I like the heavy, oval-shaped base that gets in the edges of pots, and the handle is a moderate length and has a decent ergonomic grip; unit is easy to clean. Not sure if the legs will perform for the long term under dense foods as they seem a bit spindly/thin and the weakest part of this essential kitchen tool. Regardless, I'm pleased to have it assist in food preparation.
