Yes it fits pre bored doors. It does not require a key if it is unlocked. A store room lock will require a key from the outside every time.

Q: If you exit the door, from the inside ,does the dorr unlock automatically?

If you just press the push button in it will lock the door and when you turn the handle from the inside the very first time the push button will pop out and the door will remain unlocked. However, if you press the push button in and then turn it you will be able to exit the room and the door handle will remain locked.

It locked by pushing a button on the inside and unlocks from outside with a key.

Q: Do these locks have a double keyed cylinder so keys can be used on both sides of the door?

No. It's only keyed on the outside as the inside is a push button to either keep it locked or unlocked.
