Works perfectly and loud too
This was an exact replacement for my old school doorbell on one of my apartment rental doors in the Bronx. The inside and outside even cover the paint 100%. The install took about 40 mins which wasn’t too bad for my first time installing it. The bell is nice and loud which can be heard in the back bedroom. I went ahead and ordered another one for another apartment. For those saying that the bell isn’t loud enough either installed it incorrectly or they need a hearing aid (lol)

Old-school
Never thought it was possible to find this old-school New York City-style device, it just works. Loud bell and is easy to install. The eyepiece is crystal clear

The standard doorbell found on older apartment buildings.
This is the exact model on the door in my apartment. I didn’t think they made them any more. Installation not as easy as some might suggest, took 3 hrs. Chimes reminiscent of a desk bell at a hotel. You might need to bend the clapper slightly to get the double ring every time.

DOES ANYONE CARE A DING A LING?
THIS ITEM WHICH IS PROBABLY A FIRST GENERATION MODEL OF THE SAME DOOR CHIME "PEEPHOLE" VIEWER ORIGINALLY MOUNTED IN MY 125 YEAR OLD APARTMENT BUILDING SOME TIME BEFORE I MOVED IN FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO . DUE TO MY DOOR CHIME'S RECENT FAILURE TO DINGALING EVEN THOUGH I COULD STILL VIEW OUT, I REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER I BOUGHT FROM A DEALER OTHER THAN AMAZON ,BUT IT FAILED TO BEGIN TO DING A LING. OF COURSE, NEEDING THE DING A LING TO ALERT ME IF SOMEONE WERE OUTSIDE MY DOOR, I BOUGHT THE CURRENT SAME MODEL FROM AMAZON. UNFORTUNATELY DESPITE AMAZON'S ADDED ALBEIT ASO INADEQUATE INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS, IT TOO DOES NOT DING A LING. I AM HOPING AMAZON GIVES A GENUINELY SERIOUS DING A LING, BECAUSE I INTEND TO REQUEST A REFUN AND NOT A REPLACEMENT. I ALSO INTEND TO KEEP EVERYONE INFORMED IF THEY ALSO GIVE A DING A LING ABOUT THE QUALITYI OF SUCH MERCHANDISE.
