One big con
Through lots of research I was very excited to use the bumgenious free times. When I received them they were great, so easy, very absorbant and did not stain. About 1 month into using these I saw in the corner seams of the soakers little black/brown marks when I got them OUT of the washing machine. This was on all of the diapers! I immediatly thought I had mold on the diapers but couldnt understand how. I do a wash everyday, pre rinse, heavy duty wash woth Rockin green detergent, and final rinse. I did some resesrch and found that with these specific diapers, lint can get stuck on the INSIDE of the soakers. I turned the soakers inside out and it was POOP, not lint. It was so so disgusting, I had to wash out everyone by hand. None of my other cloth diapers do this - other brands of AIO's come out completly clean after my wash routine. I got onto bumgenious website and the wash routine they reccomend is pre wash warm, heavy duty wash hot cold rinse. I have started this wash routine and so far so good, however if I would have known this problem existed I would have opted for a different brand

Super soft and SOOO worth it!
I got these after having liked the Elementals, but not wanting to pay the extra for organic. I was a little surprised to see that the insides of these are two liners, one attached at front, one attached at back, and overlapping in the middle (versus Elementals' single hammock-like insert). This actually makes spraying them clean MUCH easier, since everything can be laid flat. The package says the two inserts can be "overlapped for custom absorbency". I haven't experimented with folding the inserts in different ways, but I've been very happy with the absorbency on our 6-week-old boy just by laying both inserts flat, even after just the initial wash. (With the Elementals, they don't reach full absorbency until they've been washed several times.) Just make sure to tuck both inserts INSIDE the leg gussets.Like the Elementals, these have very secure, easy-to-use snaps. Just make sure to secure the right snaps for your baby. We do get leaks when we use too loose a setting. The part I like best is how SOFT the liners are. I think they're actually more soothing to a rashy bum than the ointment. At least, our baby stopped fussing only when the diaper got folded over (and usually if he's fussy while getting a new diaper, he stays that way until he gets off the table). They are a little bulky (bulkier than the Elementals, anyway) because of how fluffy the liners are, but Dad thinks Baby likes the extra padding.

Do not last! Elastic is shot in many of my diapers
I am super disappointed with these diapers & the quality. I loved these diapers and they are what we have used on my 18 month old since she was 5 months old. Unfortunately, the elastic has not held up at all. I have a stash of 26 bumgenius diapers and wash following the care instructions, line dried-never in the dryer, & the elastic is shot in at least 7 of my diapers. With these being over $20 a diaper, I would expect a better longer lasting quality. Total bummer because I was expecting to use these on our next baby, but that won’t be happening. What’s the point of investing in cloth diapers when you’ll have to replace them a year in? Disappointed.

pleasantly surprised
I'm actually really surprised at how much I like these diapers! I was very hesitant at first... cloth diapers sounded scary. These came highly recommended by friends. We started using them when baby was close to 3 months old (we felt she was too tiny until then, but I'm thinking now we just didn't put them on correctly.) Have been using them for a few weeks now, and it really is easy. So pleased! I think baby is more comfortable in them too vs. disposables. I wash them according to the package directions, and they come out completely clean every time! I was shocked at that because there have been some very messy diapers, but they were completely clean after I washed them. I like to hang them to dry, that takes about 12+ hours it seems. It's summer now, I don't know if that will change in colder/ rainier months. Getting enough diapers was quite an investment, but we are excited to save money going forward! Recommend to also get a sprayer to attach to the toilet, cloth wipes & spray, and a couple of wet bags.
