Therm-a-Rest Lumbar Travel Pillow - Self-Inflating Lumbar Support Cushion for Airplane, Car, Office Chair & Travel

I recently had back surgery and finding the goldilocks "just right" firmness for support has been a challenge, until this pillow. Where ever I'm sitting, whatever I need, it's customizable to my exact requirements. Sometimes it's fully inflated, but often I have it barely inflated, depending on the moment and chair. Portable to take in the car, restaurants, airplanes... I can adjust to my need and be much more comfortable where I am. This pillow makes my ability to GO places without as much pain the perfect companion for a full life. Highly recommend if you need a customizable pillow for varying situations.

This thing is incredible. The stiffness is adjustable so you can adapt the pillow to whatever weird seating situation you happen to be in. Comfortable enough to use as a head pillow. Big enough to tuck between your knees. Small enough to fit in a fanny pack once it's completely (very completely) deflated. The auto inflate feature is so good, it inflates very fast and packs down pretty small. About the size of a monster can.

Update: Its now 2019 and I bought this lumbar support pillow back in 2016. I am still using this one every day. It is mostly my car seat back pillow, but I occasionally bring it out. It rolls up and deflates to fit in my purse when going to the movies or to church. I don’t have to blow in it to inflate it. I can just loosen the knob and it airs up itself. It’s still a great pillow. Fully inflated on its own and still very much useful and helps relieve my back pain. I would recommend this pillow to anyone with lower back pain and I’d buy it again if I ever need to. But I’ve had it for 3 years now and it’s still going strong. I've had this pillow for four months now and it's still working great. I use it daily since I have bulging discs in my lower back. I use it in the car and take it out, let the air out and roll it up to stick in my purse if I'm going somewhere where I need to sit for a while. It rolls up really small. It doesn't inflate too much on its own now when I loosen the cap to let the air in. Probably because I've used it so much that the foam inside has flattened some. But I just give it a few breaths of air in the opening and it's back to new. I really like how I can open the cap to let however much air out I need to when I'm using it. It can be softer or firmer to my liking. I'm glad I chose this one as opposed to a pillow that doesn't allow for this adjustment. Sometimes I just need more support if I'm in a chair that doesn't have lower back support. Sometimes I only need a little support if I'm in a tight space like my car seat.

As a traveler with back arthritis (old fracture), I need lumbar support for long flights. Before I hauled around the same heavy memory foam pillow I use in my car. It took up a huge chunk of my carry-on! I checked amazon reviews and ordered this. Now that I have the Therma-Rest Lumbar Travel Pillow, I can actually bring a smaller carryon and have more space in it! It's very easy to inflate and deflate, which is great. It folds down quite small, like the space of 2-3 granola bars or a paperback book. It provides adequate support, which you can play around with by inflating more or less (for me full inflation is too much). The support doesn't, of course, mold to your own body and that's why it isn't perfect. But - it keeps me from having a lot of pain or discomfort; and I don't have to lug an awkward large pillow around. I recommend it!

I used it for a very long, long flight and I feel like it helped me so much and I left my back pain when I came back. It was more than 25 hours flight round three more than 50 hours from US to Africa. I loved it. It’s super easy to use and carry around. I can squeeze it in and put it in my purse and I can reinflate it when I needed it. It’s very very helpful and I use it in my car every day.

I used recently on flights internationally. It was conformed to my lower back, and comfortable. Had no back pain upon arrival. Sits well and deflates easily into a pouch in my purse. Recommend this product.

We flew to Italy from Phoenix. 5 hours across the country. Then another 9+ hour flight. I guess I could say it sorta a little bit helped. Have the other flights I forgot I had it. I usually use my shirt or something thing. Pro's it is really tiny when you take all the air out of it for traveling a lot that was nice. We went to 5 cities and 7 flights, train rides etc. I only used it for the 2 long flights. It is high quality material will last long. Maybe it would be good for car rides, train rides or camping. Fit in the arch of your back good. maybe if they made the design a little more curved for the lower back that might be a better design. Con price is way too high and I didn't feel it helped that much. However I had to have back surgery 4 months after so my back was so bad maybe I am not a person to give a good review. I put off lower back surgery for over 10 years. This wasn't soft. Hope this helps. It was good where it wasn't too bulking and your back didn't feel like you were being pushed forward too much.

I’ve had my pillow for 7 years and it still works perfectly. The fabric “cover” is separating from the pillow so I’m buying a new one but it is the best. It goes everywhere with me. We’ve been around the globe together.

Perfect to put in your wife's handbag for when you have an injured back and are going out to dinner, and you will need lumbar support to be able to sit through 3 courses.

In ufficio aiuta molto se si sta tanto seduti, e, già dai primi utilizzo, ho notato che a fine giornata non avverto più la zona lombare irrigidita. Il fatto che sia regolabile facilmente permette di adattarlo a tutte le esigenze. Ottimo anche per lunghi viaggi in auto.

Excelente. Es un poco más grande de lo que imaginaba pero cumple su función a la perfección. Siempre intento tener un soporte en la espalda cuando estoy sentada por mucho tiempo para evitar el consecuente dolor lumbar. Necesitaba algo que cumpla esta función y que sea fácil de transportar para usarlo en viajes. Esta almohada es muy fácil de inflar y desinflar y brinda un gran soporte lumbar. Ya la usé en un primer trayecto y creo que será un elemento indispensable para todos los viajes que haga en el futuro. Estoy muy contenta y satisfecha con la compra.
