Glad I took the plunge
I was a bit hesitant about this. I wanted something that could send CVs and had lots of performance options but don't like menu diving. Although there's a bit of an initial learning curve (a couple of hours maybe) it is actually pretty straightforward to use and very flexible. Very happy with it. Really nicely made and good for the money.

Quirky, but wonderful.
Highly capable sequencer for experimental electronic music with modular (and MIDI) synths.Probably not good for the inexperienced user, as the learning curve could be impenetrably steep and confusing for the uninitiated.Physically smaller than it looks in photos (which is a good thing), and has a very high quality of finish, feeling both solid (weighty for its small size) and robust.Has several rather weird UI design quirks, but that doesn’t detract from the considerable enjoyment of using it.Nonetheless, a specialist product that’s definitely not for everybody.

Bags of potential.
The unit has bags of potential.However,1. The user manual is awful!2. It isn't the most intuitive peice of equipment!3. Not all the 3.5mm to din, midi breakout cables work with it!4. It doesn't appear to be USB class compliant? My (Android) DAW sees it as an audio input, not a sequencer?Hence, 4 stars rather than 5.Oh, and the power supply for an Electribe 2 works with it.

I didn't gel with it.
As a big fan of the SQ-1 I really tried to like the SQ-64, but it's not intuitive, the documentation is poor and ultimately it just no fun to use. Korg also made some pretty weird design choices:1. The device has 17 physical outputs for cv/gate sequencing, given this why are we limited to 3 melodic tracks? Why not make the outputs user assignable?2. Going back and forth between gate and pitch tracks is tiresome3. Using the modulation tracks is super fiddlyAll that said, it's well made and feels like like a premium product. I should takes some of the blame too, my initial reaction to it was poor and so I never really spent the time to really master it.

Good value for money Sequencer
Good value for money Sequencer that works well with my other gear. Bit of a learning curve and the manual is not great but enough YouTube videos to learn from. Still discovering its full potential.

Beautiful design. Excellent creative tool.
Really versatile and surprisingly easy to program complex sequences. Very easy to change steps etc. On the fly during playback. LEDs during playback are superb (and brighter when using mains adapter than USB cable from computer). Lots of connectivity options, but you'll need a MIDI jack to DIN adapter if you plan to connect using DIN cables. Rotary encoders have great feel to them. Loading and saving really easy and you can use long filenames for sequences. Manual is VERY limited but you can pick everything up from YouTube videos. Fantastic at driving a sampler too.

The pads are laughably bad and the most important part!?
I'm so shocked this huge manufacturers manage to mess up the simplest and most important element of a sequencer. The pads. Not only are they not velocity sensitive they feel like you're pressing down on a springy mattress. There is not any feeling of conclusion, that it's fully depressed. Really shame on you Korg how can you mess up the most important parts of musical instrument?! The input keys on an instrument, the tactile sense of triggering a sound, so important for a performance. I'm so disappointed and upset they made this on mass, I heard they dropped all support and are stopping production. Not surprised! Also it's so heavy it's solid metal which sounds like a good idea. But maybe replace the body with plastic and use those funds to put some decent keys on this thing??
