As far as cables go you never quite know what you are getting into when you purchase a brand you haven't had experience with. Let me ease your minds as the packaging this came in was pristine and the quality of the cable was far beyond the expectations for the $6.99 price tag.This purchase was obviously a utility for me as I had a cisco router lying around that I needed to configure. This fit the bill perfectly and I had no issues getting this hooked up and connecting to the router's ios.I highly recommend this product as it is a great value and bargain.

This worked just fine to connect to a Cisco 1252 access point. I was able to connect at startup and stay connected through reboots, but if I disconnected and reconnected, it would not successfully connect. I suspect that this is the fault of either the USB to serial adapter or PuTTY, however.Using PuTTY, I was able to connect to a serial interface, specifying only COM7 (the USB serial adapter's interface) in the PuTTY config. All default options matched the expected options for this access point.

What I needed

The cable appears to be well constructed and is working without any issue. Plug it in and voilà, you have access to the console port for management.The bright colors also makes it easy to spot! I don't leave it connected since I seldom need console access.

I choose this rating because the cable worked looked study and handled a lot of work clipping and unclipping to several switches for my work.What I liked and Disliked - I liked that it worked and worked for the entire project. I dont have any dislikes.I would suggest you buy this cable.

Fair ProductThe product is ok and does works sometimes but not for the many new Cisco modems

I got this product for my work register, it didn’t work but it wasn’t to the products fault. I just ordered the wrong part, I saw the same part for $25 on another website so this is a value! It looked like it was good quality as well. Customer service was quick to respond to me and help me!

I've ordered many of these - all seem solid and are pin-for-pin compatible with standard Cisco "baby blue" serial cables but much cheaper than ordering them from Cisco.

Works on all switches and routers where some others do not. Flexible and long.

What can I say, it's just what you expect (I left my others on customer sites)
