FlotecFP4312 Fp4312-08 Pump Jet Well 1/2Hp, No Size, Black

I've used four hydrojet pumps in rotation to move water for a geothermal heat pump and the house well for over 30 years. Parts have become harder to get and Sear's has reduced their stock. When one of the old pumps failed so that I couldn't repair it, I searched the web for a replacement and found that this Flotec series matches the look of the HydroJet pumps very closely. The construction is the same, the materials, even the starting capacitor, etc. under the end cap. They are almost an exact replacement except for one small detail: the top molded connector (shown top left) has only two outlets instead of three. The hydrojet pumps had an additional port straight out the back of this connection point. This necessitated some replumbing to put these pumps in the same systems. So far they've worked very well. I report back in another 30 years! (not).

Not very easy to use or set up.

I am completely impressed with this pump and company. The pump comes with a pressure switch and a pressure gage so I didn't need to buy any additional pump parts. The instruction book was so easy to follow and understand I have never seen such a well written informative guide like this before. I was a little concerned about the housing being plastic but not anymore everything is high quality with this pump. I have great pressure and endless water again!

This is a replacement well water pump and is identical to the one that I am now using, and that I bought about 10 years ago at the Home Depot. The first one is still working well, but I think that 10 years is a long time. I was particularly interested in the fact that it is made of fiberglass and only the shaft is metal. Previous pumps that I have since replaced were made of cast iron and they plugged with rust. After I replace the 10 year old one with the new one, I may take it apart to see if there is any rust inside. I was particularly pleased to see that the new one is identical to the existing one since this will make the replacement easy.

Less than 2 weeks after purchased, pump was reduced $60.00. Pump was an exact replacement for a craftsman pump that had been discontinued by Sears. There was no need to replace or re do any pipeing. Hope this replacement last 25 plus years like the original installation.

Pump was easy to connect and hook up. Gauge was working properly .Con was the pump would not build to rated PSI as advertised with any size of piping. Could only achieve 34 psi with a well depth of 53 feet.

Excellent pump for the money! Exact same pump I have used from Sears for past 30 yrs. Everything bolted right up. Didn't have to change anything! So glad I found the Flotec pump!

It worked as noted in the advertisement . No problems.
