Work better than other compression socks
These toeless knee high socks are excellent. I wear a pair of short ankle socks over them to protect my toes from getting chafed by my shoes. The toeless design makes sure my toes aren’t constricted. I like that the top elastic of the sock isn’t too tight - other compression socks I’ve tried have been too tight at the top, even on my thin to average legs. I’ve had them a few months now, and so far they are holding up well / no runs or holes. If you find they are not staying up well, a very sparse smear of body lotion on the skin, in the location where the top band goes around the leg, will help keep them up.

Does the job
These are great and just what I was looking for. I have suffered a recent DVT and the stockings I was given in the hospital don't provide enough compression. The only two drawbacks to these are 1) The color really sucks. It doesn't even approximate a flesh tone. Blech. 2) Getting the stocking to avoid rolling at the top is pretty much impossible, so it always seems to hit me right in the back of the knee, where my clot is--it's annoying and causes the need for somewhat frequent pull ups or adjusting. OTHER than that, it fits fine and is comfortable and effective in keeping my swelling down.

Crept up
Most compression socks, including Jobst’s, tend to be too short in the foot for me, giving me ingrown toenails; so I gave these open-toed socks a try. This was the size measured for me by both my vascular clinic and DME supplier. I wore this sock on only one leg, as its firm fabric was difficult to get on the leg that has an artificial hip. I assume they will soften after a few washings, as most compression socks do, so wasn’t necessarily concerned about that. The open-toed sock started out long in the foot but was comfortable (almost reached the end of my toes) and was about right lengthwise. Within minutes, however, everything started to creep up. I repositioned the sock several times throughout the day, but it continued to bunch around my ankle and knee (because it crept up that high!). By day’s end, my ankle was swollen and I had painful ridges around it and under my knee. I wore one sock for one day. Won’t be wearing it again. “Expensive” is subjective—I think it’s worth it if you can find a style that fits and does its job. This pair isn’t worth it to me. Some people obviously have better success, because these have a high rating and the brand has a good reputation. This company makes some “Sport” socks that have a little more toe room and fit me very well, so if you need a bit more toe room, try those.

Try to get them on right away
Be sure you order the correct size, and try to get them on. I ordered the 15/20 and the 20/30. for my husband the 15/20 worked OK for him. We lost track of time and he did not try on the stronger compression till it was a day to late to return them .He can't even get the 20/30 on his feet. That is what happens to busy people. Our fault.
