Helps keep you cool in the hot summer months. Be sure to wear over your clothes.Follow all the instructions contained within the package. As for the weight loss claims, I've not noticed tremendous results. It is great for hot flashes that accompany menopause! Review: It's working for weight loss so far! - I decided to try this as an experiment to see if it really worked to lose weight. I've been dieting since September 12th, 2016 and losing between 2 to 2.25 pounds per week using the Johnson Up Day Down Day Diet. I kept my calorie intake and amount of exercise the same so that I could do a one person lab test. I started using it on November 1st, 2016 at 215 pounds, wearing it 60-120 minutes in the morning and again in the evening. After 2 weeks of using it daily, I had lost 3.5 pounds per week and 7 pounds total. This means that I've lost an extra 1.25 to 1.5 pounds per week using the vest. I will update my review after 30 days of use but so far so good. A few things if you are contemplating buying it: 1) It's kind of heavy. It weighs about 8-9 pounds, but you're wearing a big ice pack so that's to be expected. 2) I have large boobs (40DDDD) so I can't wear the vest going down the front of my chest; I have to wear it to go along the side so that it touches the side boob and sides of my abdomen. I wasn't sure if it would still work as well doing it that way, but apparently it's ok. 3) I had the same issue as another reviewer - the stitching along the shoulder started to come apart after about 3 days of use. I tried calling the company but their voice mail was full. I sent them an email on the "Contact Us" page on the website. No response back either. I will probably just buy some heavy duty thread and re-sew it myself, but it should have been better reinforced at the shoulder seam to begin with, given how heavy it is and that the shoulder seam has the burden of most of the weight. 4) I have to tighten the straps often. There is probably a fix for this but I haven't figured it out yet. 5) The instructions that came with it were for the regular vest and not the pro vest and it took me a while to figure out that the shoulder ice packs were in some random packing material. I wish there had been better instructions or at least instructions that went with my particular vest, including adaptations if you can't wear it along the front because of boobs. So I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for the above reasons 2 through 5. I live in southern California so this will be good in the summer. I'm 48, so it will probably be good when I hit menopause (but hopefully that won't be for a few more years!). It's comfortable to wear. I sit at my desk and comfy chair with it on and work on my computer and read with no problems. My lower back has been feeling better since wearing it. When not wearing it, I keep it on parchment paper on a cookie sheet that stays in my freezer, which makes it easy to pull it in and out of the freezer.

It's working for weight loss so far!

This is by far the worst made product I have ever had the misfortune to buy. The design is ok, the ice packs that are not manufactured by the vest and can be independently bought in their own wearable pouches are amazing. One of the three clasps in the front did not actually lock and has been useless since the day I received it. Every flexible stretchable band on the sides of the vest is in a useless adjustable buckle that will release the band at the first sign of strain. Every flexible stretchable band on the vest, not just the sides is stitched in to vest with no sport or securing of the fabric of any kind, by end of week 2 of use 2 of the bands created giant black fuzz balls incide the vest and when they were removed the band was no longer a band, similar to the overstretched waistband. The first day I put it on the vest, one of shoulder strap's stitching fell apart leaving only one useful strap, I restitched it by hand. I have emailed the manufacturer cite with questions about the ice packs. Getting no response I searched the webs and found all the large and medium packs can be purchased for about $45 but no one makes the shoulder packs. Overall the vest would be a great product if it was correctly stitched together, all parts actually worked and didn't come with useless adjustable buckles. Don't buy this, unless you want to throw away this money or are going to restitch the vest in its entirety.

Nice concept... design could be better.
It's bulky and the straps are impossibly annoying. You can't tuck them out of the way anywhere. Unfortunately, this vest is only suitable if you are staying at home. The chill factor is great, though, and feels great on your back and shoulders. I didn't notice weight change from this, but do believe in the science behind it. I just couldn't deal with the straps and how bulky it was long enough to really test the weight loss theory behind it. However, if it's hot outside, this would be great for cooling you down while you had to be in the heat... I really wish the design was a little different on it so that I could wear it in public. There were no options for a female vest in another design at the time of my purchase of this item or at the time that I returned this product. Now, months later, I still see no other options for me. That's a pity, but I'll keep checking periodically to hopefully find a better vest design for women.

really dont buy this. it is a lay fake NASA hice is just regular hice and very cheaply made.
everything is made bad quality really bad quality; the fasteners don't work, i tight them and they get lose in a mater of seconds. the hice bad quality, nasa technology that last 8 hours, it only last 2 hours, it is fake nasa technology, or nasa technology is cheap technology i used it working on hard fisical work under 80 degress of temperature, i repeat only last 2 hours. you will have no prolem with size unless you are very fat, the shoulder fasteners are smaler size, but the belly is for really fat peopple so the extra straps will be hanging if you dont cut them don't buy this thing, i recommend you to try the military evaporative cooling gear for working reasons, for fat lose i will recommend stooping eating cheese and going to fast food and eating less taking a snak for later, not drinking soda and not eathing all the thinks you cant live without- i say this emotionally not literaly, i love cheese... if you buy it write your opinion, give me a like if you see me. something that cost me 150 dolars should be good,

Great for relaxing, and amazing customer service!
I enjoy wearing this vest to relax my muscles, particularly those in my back - it does a fantastic job in that regard. A minor issue developed after using this vest a few times. I wrote to the seller, and they fixed the issue immediately, no questions asked!

Comparison of the older and newer Cold Sholder vests
My husband and I do a lot of cruising to tropical areas and once I found out I had MS I was afraid that was all going to have to come to an end because of my heat sensitivity till someone told me to get a cooling vest. I bought both the older and newer version of the Cold Sholder vest. I bought this older version vest in black and looks like a normal piece of clothing over a new tee shirt. It is not really that adjustable. It does have a thick Velcro closure. The ice packs are not gel ice and do melt faster because it's actually frozen water. I didn't actually time how long before the ice melted while we were in Belize but I believe it was about 2 hours. The temperature was in the lower 90's that day. The ice is probably about 1 inch thick. The ice on this vest rest on your back and part of your shoulder. It also comes with a scarf that also has ice packs to keep your neck cool. I also decided to buy a second ice vest to change out for when the other vest melts. So I bought the other the newest version that the same company... Cryomax offers. It's not nearly as stylish...looks more like something you should be directing traffic in. It has Cryomax written all over it in big letters so I wore it inside out. This vest has only one color to pick from and that's blue. This vest is adjustable but very bulky. It's like wearing a life jacket everywhere you go. The ice packs are also about an inch thick. The ice packs are positioned better because they not only go down your back and shoulders but they also go down your chest and stomach too. The newer vest does actually have gel ice packs that stays frozen much longer. I wore it for about 2 hours while we were shopping and it was still frozen solid. Then I took it off while we spent the 2-3 hours at the beach in the water. We kept it in a tote bag under our beach chairs in a shaded area during that time. When we got ready to leave I put it back on and it took about another 30 minutes to hour to get back on the ship and it had only slightly melted. Now keep in mind that it wasn't up against my body for the entire day but the temperature was still in the upper 80's all day. I wish Cryomax would come up with a newer version with the looks of the old vest but with the gel ice that comes all the way down the front and the back like the newest vest. I never tried using either of the vest for weight loss the way it's advertised...only to keep my body core temperature down and with that they both did do an excellent job...the newest vest kept me even cooler!
