BRIGHT, hard to see
I'm on the hunt for an LED anti-aging mask and so far have tried the Dennis Gross instagram famous mask, an amazon brand APHRONA mask, and now have tried this CurrentBody mask which comes highly well reviewed. My quick take: Way too bright in the eyes and pulls on the face, not for meThe breakdown:Wearability: Meh. It comes with ear straps but realistically the mask is so wide that hooking the ear loops on your ears does nothing. I have a larger head than most and still my head was too small.Thankfully they include a vecro black strap that hooks into additional loops so you can tighten the mask around your head. This does mean however you're pulling the mask against your face, so your features are smooshed ever so slightly. Also the mask is light, but you can still feel the gentle tug of gravity on the mask, ever so slightly dragging on your skin, causing your features to sag. No thanks, trying to defy gravity here.Convenience: Decent. The mask is attached by cord to a remote that also serves as its battery source. It's light, long enough to fit in a jacket pocket and doesn't drag on the mask. You could theoretically walk around doing stuff while masking it up.Visibility: So here's my biggest issue with this mask and how I instantly knew I'd be returning it. Those lights are BRIGHT and RED and RIGHT into your eyes. It doesn't matter how much you try to smoosh your eyes against the eyeholes, those LEDs are shining straight into your eyeballs. Everywhere you look is going to be brightly tinged with red like you're hulking out, and did I mention it's BRIGHT?Let's not even talk about how near infrared light may or may not cause cataracts to form faster - in general how functional am I going to be, squinting through a haze of red? How can I do anything? Not worth it for me, esp with such a hefty price tag.
