Overall I bought this product specifically for the color of my hair. It without a doubt made my blonde, blonde again. The discoloration came right out. I have read reviews and yes, it does have a strong scent, but it reminds me of like a toner the professionals use. And as far as the dryness, use a conditioner. I for one know that with any shampoo I need a conditioner. This is a set of shampoo, and you can purchase the conditioner separately like I did. I love this product. As long as I have highlights in my hair I will be using this color. If you read and follow the directions it will work. But you must wear gloves, because the product is so strong it turned my finger tips purple. I didn’t mind, it washed off quickly, but now I always wear gloves when I wash my hair. Helpful hint, hot water is not good for blonde treated hair. That in itself starts to turn your hair. If I’m going to spend the money to get my hair done, I’ll gladly do the keep up that’s involved to keep it looking nice.

I got my hair bleached again and I didn't want to get orange hair right away so I read reviews and decided to try shimmer lights shampoo. It works, It keeps my hair ashy! and its not turning my hair orange like it does every time its bleached. I saturate my hair with the shimmer lights shampoo mostly at the ends of my hair, because the roots are dark, and leave it on for 10, 15 or 20 min. depending of the time I have. then I rinse and condition, (I condition my hair with the atomy conditioner). One time I put some ashy silver toner with my fingertips on top of the shampoo at the end of my hair for about an 10 min. and the result was a nice silver highlights. It does have a strong smell that last days, even after going to the sauna steamer a few times. I had like five washes with the 16FL bottle.

Bright ash blonde in one wash. I use once a week and my blonde has never looked better. People have actually been asking if I had my hair done since I started using it! Does it smell amazing? No. Do you need to use conditioner afterwards? Yes. But IT WORKS... and for those of us who battle the brass - that’s what matters! As an avid Kevin Murphy “Blonde Angel” user before this ... this does a better job for a third of the cost.
