perfect for this arachnophobe
Let me start by saying that I have a HUGE, irrational fear of spiders. I am fine with tiny spiders and daddy long-legs, but where I live we get pretty massive ones, especially in the fall. I don't know what they are called exactly, but I can't do a google search for the name because just looking at all the pictures of large spiders makes me completely ill. Now, these spiders seem to have figured out that I am terrified of them, because as soon as my spouse leaves on a business trip, they come out of hiding to laugh at me. So I spent about 3 days extensively researching all kinds of spider-catching tools, and I concluded that this was the best thing for my particular situation. The battery-operated bug vacuums all had mediocre ratings, and the bugzooka thing only seems to work on smaller bugs. I can't use our vacuum cleaner because the attachment hose is way too short to reach spiders on the ceiling. I needed something to get spiders in ceiling joints and corners, without me having to get too close to them. The Spider Fighter is PERFECT. Here is a (hilarious) video of how it works:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M0U5z1eX2o(Incidentally, my spiders are about as big as the one in the video.) I used to freak out whenever I saw a spider, and then I would have to spend about 20 minutes figuring out the best way to kill the spider without 1) accidentally touching it, 2) having it fall on my head, or 3) only maiming it and letting it get away. Since our Spider Fighter arrived, I have disposed of 3 or 4 spiders already, without any panic attacks or nervous breakdowns. If you don't like cleaning up spider guts, the manufacturer even has a Youtube video on how to use packing tape to get the spider. Brilliant. The only (very minor) cons about this product are:1) the handle is a little short. Or rather, I am a little short. So I still have to stand on a chair to get spiders that are on the ceiling. But that is ok, since that reduces the chance that the spider will fall on my head, because I can get it from an angle.2) it can't get spiders that are hanging on soft objects like curtains. oh well. I'll still have to use an old-fashioned shoe for that.3) the handle is a little flexible, which still works on the spiders we have; but I could see having problems killing the really really big fat hairy tarantula types. It would be even better if this thing were made of metal, but that would increase the cost significantly. Luckily, I do not live in a climate that gets fat hairy spiders, and I don't ever plan to.All is all, this is the best $16 (incl. shipping) I have spent in a LONG LONG time.

It’s ok
It’s ok. It’s still difficult to get the spider even with the angle. I had to use doublestick tape to help nab the arachnid! Even then it took three tries to finally trap him using different angles. Too much time and too close to the bug. I need something a lot longer and more precise.

Aim, press, squash - quick job!
It's large and vulgarly colored, but you will come to treasure this most-welcome tool... there is nothing worse than swatting at a (always high, awkwardly positioned) spider with a flimsy fly swatter (after cowering in hesitation), than frighteningly witnessing either the predictable crazily running escape the second you lift your hand, or worse, the drop down, on you, or the wall or floor, just before disappearing from view in a room you must then sleep in. I have a lot more confidence that my attempts will actually succeed with this thing. As ugly as it is, it has made my life so much better. My only complaint is it could be, perhaps, 5" longer and a tad firmer; however, it still does an excellent job. Now I just wish they would invent something as long to clean up the remains! Why this isn't a common tool is beyond me. I only have to use the toxic spray when spiders are too far out of reach. Definitely worth having. A bit awkward to store, but again, so glad to have, who cares?!

Needs tweaking
Strangely and happily I have not had occasion to use it yet. The couple of spiders that have appeared were on a paneled closet door and in my bathroom sink so I could not use the spider fighter. One thing is the handle is too short. I contacted the maker and he said they are looking at that. I told him I attached a ruler so I could reach the ceiling. He said he had attached a yardstick. Weird that he would not make it long enough since most spiders tend to be on the ceiling or high up a wall.

Actually works
So I'm terrified of spiders, I can't even kill the little ones because I'm afraid I'll miss and they'll crawl on me. So of course I moved to a place where brown recluse are everywhere and arrive in hoardes during the summer months. I'm shaking and terrified, but so far I've been able to squish every one I see with this tool. I really wish it was longer, I feel like I'm too close to them, but truthfully my aim is perfect and not a single one has escaped me. Now I can kill them and then rock in the corner praying there aren't any mode. Definitely a must have!

This tool should be as common as the flyswatter!
The Spider Fighter is a game changer. We bought this 5 years ago, and it has worked perfectly as-promised to take down all manner of spider and insect quickly and easily. We rely on it for easy disposal of spiders that reduces the stress-level of the process to a minimum. No swinging a flyswatter and crossing your fingers, and no losing sight of the spider. The process of dispatching a spider feels downright surgical with this thing. We keep two at opposite ends of the house, and over the years we've bought many as gifts for friends and family that, several of which thought it was a gag gift until they squashed they're first spider with ease and became true believers. If you hate dealing with spiders and other creepy, fast insects, don't hesitate to buy this.

PERFECT for those that suffer from ARACHNOPHOBIA!
This will be my go-to Christmas gift this holiday season! Such a handy tool to have to help kill spiders in even the most awkward of places. Cornering those suckers is an absolute SATISFYING relief! We live in the hills, and are surrounded by a lot of nature and farm life, so you can only imagine the spider webs. My kids like to use it to corner those one or two occasional pesky flies that make it inside. The seller is also very friendly, prompt at replying and helpful. I reached out to him to correct my shipping address (my error), worried I wouldn't receive it in time, and he was QUICK to reply. I actually even ended up getting the package two days before the promised arrival date.I would recommend this product. I look forward to seeing if they can come out with one that has an adjustable handle, preferably a little longer. My overall only complaint is that I didn't buy two!
