Great Remote, Great Service
I've been a fan of the Logitech 665 remotes for years. The remote itself is a dream to use and the "My Harmony" app makes programming the remotes a breeze. Unfortunately, Logitech has discontinued this model and replaced it with less capable and more expensive models. Go figure.... I was a bit cautious to buy "renewed" (AKA Refurbished) ones but I took the plunge and bought several. I'm very happy with the results. Other than the packaging and my comments below, they might as well be new.Comments:1. These remotes are motion-activated. By that I mean that they sense when they are picked up and turn on at that time. Therefore shipping them with batteries installed means that the batteries will be worn down a bit when they arrive. I'd suggest two uninstalled AA batteries be put in the box along with the remote and the connecting cable rather than having the batteries installed in the remote itself and thereby running down a bit every time the box is moved or touched.2. I did have one of the several remotes I bought show up as DOA. That wasn't a big deal because with a quick return online and a short stop by the UPS store, the defective one was on its way back to AZ and I had a replacement unit the next day.Net: Great remote (my vote for one of the best ever) and great service by AZ to take all of the worry out of buying a used version. Side note: Shame on Logitech Harmony for discontinuing one of their best products.

So glad I bought this
I am not generally a fan of purchasing refurbished electronics however since Logitech discontinued the Harmony line I had no choice. So glad I got this. The 665 arrived 3 days after I ordered it. Upon opening the box the unit looked new.I installed new batteries and the unit immediately powered up. I have 2 other Harmony’s which I bought new so I’m familiar with both the software and the install process. The install went as it normally does and the unit worked as designed. Too bad Harmony doesn’t sell it’s tech to a company that wants to fill this nich. For those who have never installed a Harmony remote have the make and modelNumbers of your components handy and know how they connect to your system. If you do this prior to doing the install it will go more quickly.

Unable to connect to the My Harmony Website to be able to program this remote. Very difficult
We currently have the Harmony 650 remote and have loved it, but wanted to upgrade to a newer one since the older one is starting to wear out. When we received this remote, we tried to access the My Harmony website to program the new remote and after a couple difficult hours of trying to log into the site we were not able to access any information within in the site that would allow up to conduct the programming. This was a waste of time and money. I will be purchasing a different type of remote and I will make sure it is not part of the "Harmony" product line.

Best of its kind, but still falls short…..
If you have a home theatre set-up, then you need a remote like this. This remote can be programmed to operate multiple devices, and change important routing settings, all with one push of a button. The need for that convenience only increases if you have additional streaming devices like we do for Amazon and YouTube TV (Roku stick). Without a remote like this, we’d have at least five remotes sitting around on our coffee table and one would need an engineering degree to operate the system (which I am but my wife most definitely is not). This remote greatly simplifies our life…….when it hasn’t ‘forgotten’ where it left off.Sadly, it’s all too common for us to hit the intended button and have one or more devices not cooperate. So then we hit the remote’s ‘help’ button, which 1 out of 3 times fails to solve the problem. It would be great at this time if you could then easily switch the remote to instead simulate each device’s individual remote but, for example, it cannot easily emulate all of the functions of my receiver’s remote. Eventually, we’ve pulled the original five remotes back out of the drawer which is the scenario these remotes were invented to solve.Look, it must be incredibly difficult for the manufacturers of these ‘universal’ remotes to keep up with the ever increasing number of new TVs, DVD players and streaming devices out there. Maybe that’s why Logitech has given up on manufacturing these devices anymore. The PC software one has to use to program the remote is not all that intuitive and is badly in need of an upgrade, which obviously isn’t going to happen. This may be one of the best of this kind of devices out there, but don’t get your hopes set too high.

Easy to program and use
I now have two of these and love them. You have to go to the Logitech website to setup and program but it is straight forward and easy to change over tiime if you change any of your equipment. Highly recommend...

May not work properly
The backlight on the LCD screen remains on all the time. There is no way to turn it off, even when going through all the settings in Logitech Harmony setup software. A search on Google shows that this issue is common. I found no way to fix the problem. Information on Google suggests that updating the remote's software can fix it. I have no idea how to do that. This situation will run down the batteries more quickly than normal. I likely cannot use this remote. Other than the backlight problem, the remote works.

Set up in My Harmony not as easy (latest / greatest windows ) but still great remote
I'm replacing an older model, with this. The set up for this model was a little difficult for me, as I could not get the software to work with my newer PC newer version of windows. After I used an older PC with older windows version and worked out the issue, was able to program the remote easily.I wish I could remember the "trick" to get the software to work, the problem was when trying to complete the set up it would lock up. I found that if I log in manually (maybe click my account) in my Harmony, I was able to continue and complete the set up.Great remote, after My harmony log in, the set up is very easy. Unfortunately the software does not appear to be updated for latest / greatest windows and internet browser version.Highly recommended. Disagree with some other reviews, the software is available, and you can get it to work. It may take a couple attempts.
