Package came with a ton of earring backs & earrings. I was surprised with the quantity! needed clear earrings (due to school dress-code restrictions that my boys had to conform to). Good price. Did not know something like this even existed until we pierced my daughter’s ears. As she is in a competitive sport, the rule of thumb is no jewelry, but that can be a problem in the early months of new ear piercings.We found these, got the coaches blessing to use on a “trial basis” and have gotten the permanent OK to use them all the time. They keep her piercings open, are totally unnoticeable and do not irritate them.

I have supplied you with some photos here to hopefully help you get more of an idea of the size and shape of these earring blanks. So far they are holding up quite nicely for me. I have a metal allergy to I am having to convert some of my earrings. For this purpose, they are really a blessing because the 5mm top lessens the amount of contact of my ear to metal tops that I apply.It is EXCEPTIONALLY important that I tell you (as a jeweler with much experience) that you must take sandpaper and you must sand (roughen up) the surface of the flat top of the earring where you will connect your decorative top. Also, you must use sand paper to roughen up the area on your decorative top where you will connect this backing. If the decorative top is strong metal that you cannot scratch easily like stainless steel, it is possibly that you will need diamond sanding paper to roughen up the areas where you will join one surface to the other. Roughening up the surface of both sides of the connecting area is crucial for a good, solid bond between the pieces so that they stay together for years.As for the quality of this product, I would say that it is decent quality for the price. You need to be careful not to bend the earring wire backs when you insert the silicone backs. This is typical with plastic studs.The silicone backs, one of which I showed in the photo, go on easily enough to do their job. However, dexterity is needed to put them on since they are so small in size. If you are having trouble sliding them on, just spray a little water on the earring wire and on the silicone back and it more easily slips on.So, overall, this is an Excellent Buy. I was able to put them in my ears and I did not have a reaction to them, which is surprising because my ears have a reaction to me just putting earrings in from searching for the other side of the hole. The posts are sharp and long tho, they definitely poked my head behind my ears when I laid on them.

Its ok but it can poke your fingers..

These were definitely one of my best purchases. I’ve been looking for some clear retainers I can use to keep my new piercings open while playing sports and these are amazing. They’re very easy to use and if you lose them you have plenty of replacements. This product is great for replacing jewelry but not for concealing. If you’re looking to completely hide a piercing these aren’t it. They can be seen very easily, but my goal was to just remove the metal jewelry from my ear, not to hide anything, and these served their purpose.

My daughter got her ears pierced within the last year, and our soccer league does not let them wear normal earrings for the practices/games because of safety issues. She hasn't had her piercings long enough to leave earrings out for that amount of time, so these have saved us! They are plastic and completely invisible unless you are looking for them. We have reused the same pair for a few games now, but I like the fact that we have plenty of extras in case they get lost.
