Bought these batteries about a month ago, it is possible they are faulty?

You have to be careful, Ni-MH batteries are only 1.2 volts when fully charged. Most devices require 1.5 volt batteries like Alkaline ( non-rechargeable ) or Lithium and may think the battery is already discharged - because when a 1.5 volts battery reached 1.2 volts they are already on the way out. I tried these in a Drayton wall thermostat and even though the battery was fully charged the 'battery low' symbol appeared straight away, so i fitted normal alkaline battery AA batteries and all was OK.

According to the printing on the batteries themselves - they are made in China!
