Flawed
Very well made, neat and feature packed. Only problem is, as a product that supports Tidal, it didn't function properly, which is a shame as that is the main reason I chose this product. It more often than not skipped tracks in a playlist or would continuously repeat the same track. Sent it back for refund.

Great sound but usability needs work…
Great sounding device. But the interface needs some work and trying to control it via the app is problematic as it crashes on controlling tidal. Tidal works but is super limited.

Hiby R2 good value
The sound is better than my old i-pod.The interface takes a bit of working out, not as easy as the i-pod, but you get used to it. The build is solid, battery life seems adequate You need to buy a micro sd card as there is no built in memory. You have to update the database when you add music to the sd card, this take a while depending how much you have loaded on the card.Only had it a few days so not explored all its uses but overall a nice little player for the pricedespite a few foibles.

Great sounding and full featured little DAP.
Bought to replace a Fiio m3k with the reboot problem. I’ve been very happy with this player; lovely design, built well with lots of features in a small package. Good looking, responsive touch screen and attractive metal and glass build.Best thing about this player is the sound, though. It’s subjective, but this is my favourite player at the moment (including much more expensive units). Best way I can describe it is ‘smooth and slick’, very pleasant to listen to (HD 599, RHA T20, 1More Triple Driver), and enjoyable sound. I like the 8Ball sound adjustment, but you could leave this flat and have a great listen for hours. I haven’t managed to tune it to play through my stereo speakers yet (I wish these players had a dedicated setting for this) and I haven’t used it much as an external DAC, but for FLAC, 320kbps mp3 and 256kbps AAC this brings great detail and body to my music. The MQA features will be handy when I try Tidal next month.Negatives? Well, the case supplies is a little loose and the player rattles around in it, and the square shape of the player is more awkward than the candy-bar m3k. Also, the built in software keyboard is the old T9 style, which makes it difficult to enter WiFi or account passwords, but this will manifest itself quite rarely in use.All in all, a great player.

No help with faulty HiBy R2
You're on your own with a faulty HiBy R2: Minimal 'quick start guide' included with product and no reply from service@hiby.com.I copied about 1400 music files (within artist folders and album sub-folders) in 44 kHz/16bit FLAC format (30 GB) onto a SanDisk Ultra 128 GB, Class 10, microSD card.HiBy R2 music database update found only about 425 to 844 music files (total varied on different attempts). On other attempts, the Hiby R2 displayed 'no music found' on the SD card and gave a 'playback failed error -12'.The same microSD card found & played all files without error on a Sony NWZ-A15 hi-res Walkman player.Helpful technical help on Amazon chat identified faulty product for return and refund.

Not worth buying
This advertises itself as WiFi and DLNA capable, but it isn't really! The WiFi only allows you to access two paid online services. There is no Amazon OR ITunes music capability, not even a browser. Nor is audible accessible. You can switch DLNA on, but that seems to be it. You cannot access or browse any nearby LAN servers, the whole point of DNLA!Being as these are the fearures I was expecting, a return is due!
