This was my first time making a gingerbread house and I researched many types before purchasing (full disclosure, I was going to purchase one in person at Target, but they'd sold out by the time I decided to buy one). I chose this one partially because it was cute (and my youngest niece loves unicorns), but also because the reviews as compared to reviews for others I'd looked at were much better. For example, no complaints of breaking and no complaints about not having enough materials. I would agree. We had a tiny break in the roof, but nothing catastrophic and easily covered up. We had enough materials to make it.Did it come out perfectly? No, but I blame the construction crew (me). :-) I wish I had waited more than 15 minutes after gluing the walls together to continue on -- waiting several hours would have resulted in better success, I think.I was happily surprised to discover the gingerbread and the decorations were quite tasty. Well, not the 2 little presents -- those were hard and we tossed them. But all else was very tasty.I don't know that I'd ever build another one, but if I did, this is the company I'd look for purchasing from (if not the same kit).

I bought this to do with our grandkids. Although it was very expensive, I knew my granddaughter would love the pink and the unicorns. However, It was difficult to put together for adults. The video on the website went so fast you couldn’t use it to construct the house. A piece came broken and there wasn’t enough white icing to do everything that you needed it for. For $45 I expected more. Would not recommend unless you’re an engineer and be sure to have extra icing available.

First starters let me begin by saying that I purchased this gingerbread house kit to use for Valentine’s Day and purchased all my own candy and embellishments. Even though the item was marked all over “Fragile” it’s a essentially cookie at the mercy of the carrier. So almost all of the pieces were cracked in half. Am I upset? Not in the least. See when I buy these kits I dont expect these to be competition worthy gingerbreads. I buy them to spend a few hours having a ball with my child. Does she care that it has cracks? Nope. We get sticky and make a huge mess while eating way more candy then actually gets put onto the house. It’s FUN!!! What I can say about this gingerbread is that is smells fantastic! The sugar accessories are absolutely adorable and perfect for a unicorn loving little girl. We have carefully put them away to be used on our next Christmas themed gingerbread. So bottom line is if you want a perfect gingerbread product then I suggest you make yours from scratch. If you want to spend some quality time with your child or just want to have fun yourself then buy this kit. It’s adorable! Also if you want to “cheat” and make your life easier glue the structure with hot glue and then cover over with the frosting. 🤫

I’m a big fan. Didn’t expect this to be so much fun. We are two adults who spend an evening doing this. We loved it!Everything is perfect - the design, the details, and the amount of material for decorations. Unicorns are adorable! (We still keep them. Because why on earth would anyone eat a brick made of a pure sugar?)The Taste? Not sure. We do this for fun, not because it tastes nice.

This is hands down the best gingerbread house I've ever made. I got a different style for each person in the house and we all had so much fun. It was cheaper than the other junky kits, and so so sooooo much cuter! I will be buying these every year!

The gingerbread pieces were either warped so they wouldn't fit together, or broken entirely. Utter waste of money.

Pieces came broken and made it impossible to put together.

The Good: Item arrived on time.The Meh: The gingerbread pieces were lightly colored and tasted like sugar cookies with ginger thrown into the mix.The Bad: The score marks on the gingerbread pieces caused the gingerbread to be weak and it cracked on the score lines during shipping and arrived broken. It took a very long time to the put the cracked sides of the gingerbread house back together with icing. Then I had to work hard to make the gingerbread house stand up. First I made a square cardboard base to lean the sides of the gingerbread house against it. Then I used icing to attach a ton of marshmallows to the corners of the house to stabilize it from the outside. Sure, I made it look cute, but it took three hours and a ton of elbow work, and extra sprinkles and marshmallows that didn't come in the kit. I literally used every last drop of icing in the kit to make it work.
