Is there a difference between extra dark black castor oil vs regular black castor oil in terms of effectiveness?

I originally order the extra dark black castor oil and on my second order by mistake I order the regular thinking that was the one I originally order.both my husband and I noticed that his hair wasn't growing as quick with the regular oil and his hair was not the same texture as with the extra dark oil. We originally bought the extra dark oil for his hair because it was weak and he wanted some strength. he also had an itchy scalp that stop with the extra dark oil. in noticing the difference. I went to my sister house who I had given a bottle to. I realize I ordered the wrong one.I immediately went back to the extra dark castor oil.BIG DIFFERENCE.

how is the smell? I am looking for an odorless or low smell jbco

This is definitely not odorless but it works wonders for my hair and skin. The smell is not that bad
