Got the large one for our Cavalier. Can’t imagine the small would have worked. I didn’t have the option to take down the door screen to install it so fixed it while it’s in place. Was easy and took few minutes. I put it, cut the door screen inside, removed it and folded the edges of the screen then put it again and it works fine so far.

This screen door cat flap provides an easy to install solution for cat entry & exit. It was very easy to install the flap onto the screen door, and the provided instructions were clear and straight forward. One of our three cats figured out how to use the door right away. The second is slowly getting the hang of it, and our third is an old pro that has experience with an older version of this entry method and has no issues. Because this is mounted on a screen vice a solid surface, you do need to be mindful of the overall sturdiness of the installation, but this is to be expected too. I recommend this cat door.
