Is corsair link needed? i'm weary of getting a fourth rgb software (already have cam, cue2, aura sync). if it is needed, does it use up resources?

Don't use link, use iCUE. It's better. You don't need it per se, but it gives you a ton of control over the lighting, and you can also set up custom fan curves. There are a wide range of colors and effects, and it would be a shame not to use them. If you don't get the software, the fans will still look good, they'll just do a rainbow thing.

Question 2

Why so expensive? Are these fans whisper quiet and made of medal rather than plastic, or is simple color driving the price to x25 their worth?

They are better quality fans and yes they are very quiet. No they are not metal (not "medal") either. These have separate lines for RGB vs driving the motor and don't interfere with Q-control settings for motherboards that use that. Many others utilizing a single plug design do and tend to butt heads with the m'board controlling and readng the speed while the 3rd party controller also does. At any rate, if you think it's too high then don't by it.

Does it come with rgb led cable to attach pro to the hub?

Yes, each fan is equipped with a 4-pin RGB connector that connect to the RGB fan hub, or any of our other 4-pin RGB fan lighting controllers.

Whats the difference on the rgb and led fans are the rgb life span longer or are they more efficient then the led?

RGB fans can display multiple colors on a single LED as opposed to single color LED (life span is not measured nor advertised and the product should last for as long as the warranty is active), any other specific questions please contact us at support.corsair.com
