Great
Great book. The only thing I should mention is that you have to be already somewhat involved in the field of cosmology, gravity and quantum mechanics to be able to fully appreciate this book.

Eye opening
Not really my field so a bit difficult to read for me personally but it really opens your eyes and it's always good to learn something :)

Once again, as advertised and ahead of time.
Use = reading and expansion of thought. Quality = great.....I've honours in Physics, but this book has helped me to understand concepts which were totally alien before. Unreservedly recommended.

Great read for everyone into math and science
Each page really makes you think! Fun to read in the bathroom and on the bus. Recommend if you’re into math or physics, doesn’t require an extensive background.

Un livre enrichissant
Un super livre qui vous fait comprendre les principaux enjeux et théories de la physique. Pas besoin d'être un grand scientifique, tout est expliqué de facon simple et limpide.

Book for people that are interested in astronomy and have already read something about it in other books
I own this book for years and I have read it three times. Despite the fact that not all information about black hole are up to date others topics have little or not changed so far, so it's still worth reading simply because of how a genius like Stephen Hawking thinks about the universe and how it's created and how the universe might end up. These questions are not answered directly by hawking of course but you get a pretty good notion of how all in the universe is connected with each other in some way.Hawking picks up some theories of some very famous physicians like Einstein or Newton and make a discussion about them. One of the main theories Hawking sometimes refers to when he explains his own theories about black holes for example is the relativity-theory of Einstein. Black-Holes are still very mysterious and the way we perceive them now has changed since this book was published too but nevertheless the theme black-holes seem to answer a lot of questions about many other mysteriousnesses like how the universe might have begun and how it's likely to end because the condition within a black-hole can be compared to the beginning of the universe.Result: I can recommend this book to everyone that topics like black-holes, singularity, atoms, electrons e.t.c. means a number of things to, but to others that may want to read something about Hawking and have not gained any knowledge about astronomy this book might be a too strong tobacco.
