What kind of water do you dissolve this in? Does it have to be distilled or can I use tap water?

read up on the brain killing amoeba. use quality distilled or purified (or boiled) water only, like the other answer says DON'T use plain tap water.

Can you use alkaline water?

We use Acidic water (5.0) and have for a couple of years. We noticed no sting and better results since we switched to the 5.0 water.

Is this only salt or does it have bicarbonate of soda as well?

The bag states it is 99.99% salt (sodium chloride).

Is this salt finely ground or is it like regular salt granules?

It's pretty fine it dissolves quickly
