We had a good time with it!
I bought this product again this year to assemble with my four grandchildren ages 2, 4, 6 and eight. My husband supervised the two-year-old quite a bit. I had forgotten that you need to assemble them several hours before you decorate them but it clearly does say that in the directions. So we assemble them yesterday and we decorated them today. The icing was not really enough to Liberally apply it and so my husband had purchased three containers of white icing to go along with the decorating of the gingerbread houses. We also put the candy decorations each in little bowls and added more of candy items such as chocolate chips little mini M&Ms, M&M peanuts, and 3 diff candy sprinkles. It’s more about the experience. We had a good time with it. But my grandkids don’t really like gingerbread; so next year I will try to get a kit made of some other kind of cookie that they actually like. But it was a great activity for the afternoon and after dinner today, they got to eat them. Well they ate much of the candy and the icing; they don’t really like the gingerbread cookie. My husband and I each had a gingerbread cookie we like them. Also, at the outset it is very challenging to break the larger cookies into the pieces that you’ll use to construct the houses. I used a serrated knife and carefully cut through the cookies to create the walls of the houses and the roofs. It worked pretty nicely.

Pretty good
Gingerbread house reviews are always so-so, but I took a chance with these because my kids always get frustrated with the instability of bigger houses. We liked that the houses were smaller and they were easier for my kids to decorate and not get overwhelmed. One of the houses was a mess though because the cookie pieces broke when I was trying to cut them apart (and I followed the directions). Wish they came pre-cut so that we weren't wasting money.

Fun. Lots of toppings.
We wanted something to do during the pandemic. Decorated these during a virtual cookie party. We probably weren’t as detail-oriented because we were also chatting with family on Zoom but these turned out cute and were fun to do. We ran out of icing but had plenty of toppings to decorate with. Made do with some icing we had on hand. A couple of pieces were broken but we glued them back together with icing. The hardest part is setting the houses up the day before. Definitely helps to have a second set of hands.
