I bought the jars to go with the strainers thinking things were going to be simpler than using a handheld strainer; not so, the strainers block up really easily and you can't get the kefir out. When a handheld strainer blocks up, you use a spoon or spatula to move the grains around to get things flowing; you cannot do this from the inside of the jar, all the jars and strainer kits are left on the shelf unused.

I love it! I didn’t have to use a separate strainer to make my water kefir. Straight from my jar to the bottle. I found the white cover a bit tricky to open at first as it gets stuck but I figured out how it actually works and didn’t have anymore issues. I have a 2L wide mouth mason jar pitcher and i have used the cover for the juice i made as well. As long as you have any size mason type glasses or jars, this will definitely be better than buying an expensive Kefirko.

Very handy and useful in making Kefir. Fits standard Mason jar securly and with rubber seal inside, there are no leaks or spills. The lid opens to either remove completely (when pouring) or when making kefir - giving the required air without allowing dust or any contaminant into the jar. Pouring from the jar is very easy, by removing the opaque cap - and it strains at the same time. Very easy to clean Highly recommend

I’ve used for cultivating kombucha style ginger beer plant and they are good for the purpose. I’d say not so suitable for say milk kefir. I like the open close mechanism and the ability to strain. But they are expensive for what they are.

Me han gustado muchísimo, para el kéfir de agua son estupendos. Me gustan más que el kefirko, que también lo tengo. El filtro de Masontops está mejor diseñado, nunca se escapa nada. Son aptas para los botes de 86 mm, yo los compro en Koro o aquí mismo en Amazon. Ojo, hay que aprovechar cuando los bajan de precio, yo los he conseguido por 14,99.

Ich habe mir ein Starterset für die Herstellung von Milchkefir bei "fairment" bestellt. Dabei war auch ein kleines Plastiksieb zum Abgießen des Kefirs dabei. Da der Kefir jedoch sehr dickflüssig ist und die Kefirknöllchen das Sieb natürlich sofort gefüllt habe, hat es trotz vorsichtigem Umrühren ewig gedauert, bis der Kefir durch das feine Sieb abgetropft ist. Das fand ich auf Dauer zu zeitaufwendig und ich suchte bei Amazon nach einer Alternative, die ich mit diesen Deckeln fand. Ich bin wirklich begeistert! Aufgrund der anderen Rezensionen war ich zunächst skeptisch, ob diese Deckel auf meine Gläser von fairment passen, habe aber zu meiner großen Freude festgestellt, dass diese sich einwandfrei auf meine Gläser schrauben lassen. Nun kann ich relativ schnell (natürlich läuft der Kefir trotzdem nicht wie Wasser durch die Deckel) den Kefir abgießen. Die Löcher sind zwar schon relativ klein, jedoch kommen dort trotzdem kleinste Stückchen durch, ob es Kefirknöllchen oder aber bei der Fermentation entstandene Kefirstückchen sind, weiß ich nicht. Aber das ist ok, da ich den Kefir nochmals abgieße, aber dafür dann das feine Plastiksieb benutze. Und damit habe ich dann einen wunderbar cremigen Kefir ohne kleine Stückchen. Ich kann diese Deckel also nur empfehlen! :o)
