Estuve viendo por mucho tiempo reseñas de este lente, dudaba un poco por la marca ya que no es nativo de Sony, pero me equivoqué, funciona de maravilla. La nitidez es la correcta con mi cámara Sony a7m2, ahora solo está limitada por la resolución de mi misma cámara, sin embargo en este retrato que adjunto a esta descripción podrán observar que obtuve mucho detalle, más del que me esperaba. En la edición me sorprendió tanto detalle! Es cierto que suena un poco al enfocar, inclusive más que mi anterior lente kit de Sony que venía con mi cámara, pero seamos honestos, esa no es una decisión de compra a menos en mi caso, y el ruido del motor es apenas audible. El lente es enorme! Pero me agrada ya que le da a mi cámara un look más “pro” (jeje). En resumen: excelente resolución nitidez y balance de colores; precio considerable ( si lo encuentras al rededor de los 14mil pesos, no más); se escucha un poco el motor al enfocar pero solo el fotógrafo lo escuchará nada de que alarmarse; es voluminoso pero se siente firme y resistente. Lo recomiendo por que en mi trabajo ha valido mucho la pena esta inversión y consideró que es importante la resolución al momento de limpiar la piel. The price i got it for cant really complain. Noisy at times when focusing so not perfect for video work maybe but for images its great Just be patient when its focusing.

Excellent performer as a fast portrait lens for the price. Desiccant should have be included - some new units developed fungus in the front and rear elements after prolonged storage in amazon Singapore's warehouse. Warehouses in other parts of the world should be fine. Contemplating if I should return or keep.

Milky smooth bokeh at 1.4, the falloff is almost unreal! Feels quite solid, even though it's a bit plastic-y. I really love this lens... it's currently my favourite in my collection. I'm taking fantastic portraits, and stopping the aperture up really brings out the sharpness in the lens. However even at f/1.4 I'm blown away by the results and sharpness, especially in the middle of the frame. It's bulky, but that's acceptable and expected given it's an 85mm 1.4. I've used the Sony 85mm 1.4 GM and I can say that this lens is practically as snappy and sharp as the Sony version. AF is quick, eye-AF works like a charm. I'm so impressed. I do wish there was a button on the lens (which I set to eye-af) but that's probably a Sony patent or something. It's also a bit smaller than the Sony 85mm 1.4 so that's a plus! The focus ring has just the right resistance. Samyang/Rokinon really killed it with this one and I can't wait until their next AF lens for Sony! Is this lens for you? - If you don't mind the extra size, weight and couple hundred $ compared to the Sony 85mm f/1.8 lens, GO FOR IT. You won't be disappointed. - If you shoot portraits (or want to) for a living or even a hobby, you'll love it. - I use it for events, believe it or not. You can stand back and get fantastic candid shots of people. Don't get this lens if: - You're travelling (it's bulky) - You need versatility and therefore a zoom lens - That's about it..
