Susan Bates 12106-F 5 5-1/2-Inch Silvalume Aluminum Crochet

This has become my "go to" hook. I am making baby hats with baby yarn. I find the design of these hooks is easier to use and helps the flow of my work. I don't buy any other hook brand!

My wife says this crochet hook is awful and impossible to use for the following reasons:-tiny sharp nubs on the side near the hook. This made it impossible for her to crochet with it because it snagged the yarn.-very rough within the hook that also caused snagging and splitting of the yarn, making it impossible to crochet.-the tip of the hook was so sharp and rough that it would pull on the yarn splitting and snagging it. Also making it impossible to use.I had to use a file and sand paper to sand the rough areas so she could crochet with it. Thankfully, this worked and she is now able to use it.

I have crotched for many years and I have gotten other brands in a pinch but Susan Bates is the best. Doesn't split my yarn

I lost my F crochet hook, and was needing one to replace it, but all I could find was Boyes brand hooks in the stores by me, and I do not care for Boyes because it does not have a smooth hook, and the yarn/thread gets caught on the hook part and splits allot. I found this Susan Battes hook on here, and that is one of the only brands I will buy for my Crochet hooks. Once i got it I used it right a way. It makes for a smooth, snag free, comfortable crocheting. I would recommend this hook to everyone

Have added to my extra hooks for when I help someone with a technique and if they don't have a hook it goes home with them.
