Tom Gates: Mega Make and Do (and Stories Too!)

GOOD BOOK TO READ. MY KID LOVES IT. MY KID LOVES TOM GATES BOOKS.

My son (9) has pretty much every Tom Gates book and item going, he loves it. The look on his face when this came out and was duly bought for him was a picture. However, at first he was disappointed as he thought it would be a story book, however, the disappointment flipped completely on its head when he realised it was full of fun, quirky things to make and do. My house is now happily filled with little paper cut outs, hand made toys and games inspired by the book, and its become a go-to resource for him when bored and looking for something to do.

My daughter who is dyslexic absolutely loves these books, after she reads them she hands them down to her younger sister who also loves them. They are easy to read and understand. I love listening to them giggle whilst reading these books. If you want to get a reluctant reader reading ... these are a must! Lots of funny illustrations. My elder daughter has started copying the style of drawings in her art work. I can’t say enough about this book series....brilliant for ages 8+ Definatly recommend for learners who struggle to read/ dyslexic children who are sick of biff, chip and kipper !!

My little boy counts down the days to the next Tom Gates book, so I bought this immediately. Sadly it is not very clear that it is only an activity book. He was so disappointed. I’m sure it’s fine if you just what to get your child into books, but if it’s for a fan of reading the stories, please warn is not one.

My 9 year old grandson had already found the Tom Gates books very enjoyable. This one has been enjoyed by both grandsons aged 8 and 9 now and they enjoy reading them again and again. This I feel has encouraged the older Grandson to engage in creative writing in an impressive manner.
