Fish On! I've fished salmon and large sportfish on the Great Lakes for many years. Last year we decided to try a Chartered trip and our Captain used these to keep customers from impaling themselves with the rod butt during long retrieves. My wife loved the idea and it was the first addition we made to our own boat after our return. Many sizes specific to your tackle and target species are available.

Easier to use than a fighting belt and works great. Ours got a tarpon workout the day after it showed up. The device lived up to its claims. The only downside is that this unit is very light and can easily fly out of a boat when it is moving fast. That is a very minor quibble but something to be aware of when buying one.

My wife loves it!
My wife bought this and she loves it! It slides on/off of all of our inshore and bass fishing rods without struggling to get it off, but it does stay on snug, because the hole is tapered.

Buy 1 (or 2 or 3...)
If you fight big bruiser bottom fish or pelagics on stand up tackle & you're tired of having a sore, bruised, black & blue groin (b/c you don't like wearing a fighting belt) then you'll love it... I have ~2 on every boat & 1 in every tackle box...
