Does this shock sit you up higher than most chairs

"Than most chairs?" NO. There is no "most chairs". This is 5" extension model (really 4 1/2) which is middle of the 3 standard extension. You need to measure the total compression, lowest to highest, of your existing chair and get the model that matches it (or changes it if you want that).

Is the weight capacity rating correct (1,000 lbs.)? this is the only i've seen with that rating at comparable prices. thanks.

I know it is much higher than any of the other chairs I have had it also adjusts to much higher height if need be. I have not tested to 1000 lbs but it is very sturdy even if using all day, everyday.

I have an effezeta executive office leather chair made in Italy. Will this gas cylinder fit?

You would need to find out if your chairs cylinder is replaceable and if it uses the same size cylinder. The cylinders work great, I have replaced the cylinder in two chairs and they work great.

One size fits all, I think.

Seems like a universal fitment. Worked perfectly for me. Measure your old gas cylinder and ensure its the same height. I removed the black case because my chair had a different design however the silver part was standard size and fits well. There's small parts inside the black cylinder so be careful not to loose anything
