Probably the best upgrade i have done to my Traeger Ironwood 885. Smoke was escaping out the door sides. No longer an issue and I can confidently say that this has helped with a more smoky flavour on the meats.

My rating is for the installation only. I read several reviews of the backing being difficult to get off. On my gasket, the manufacturer left an inch of extra length on the backing. Super easy to peal back. The adhesive seemed quite sticky as well. I was planning to apply the gasket to the lid and my Pit Boss Smoker. After applying it to the lid, I decided that another layer on the grill, would probably require longer screws and shims under the hinges. I put some small nuts under the hinges to make the lid fit with even contact around the parameter. I will let it set, with the lid shut, until tomorrow, following the instructions. If smoke leaks out, I will adjust the hinge shims to try to stop the smoke leak. If you have a new smoker, or are planning to buy one soon, clean your grill surface and put some brand of gasket on your smoker or grill. My smoker is about 5 years old, and getting the grime off from the outside edge of the door and opposing contact surface was extremely difficult. DO NOT CUT CORNERS!!!! A clean surface gives the adhesive a fighting chance. I started out trying Simple Green. It was doing the job, but would have taken hours and hours to finish. I tried an oven cleaner. The oven cleaner cut the grime pretty well. I did 3 or 4 treatments, wiping off with paper towels and followed with hot soapy water. I finished with paper towels, wet with isopropyl alcohol. I wiped until the paper towel showed zero residue. I cleaned both surfaces, the lid and the grill. When I realized that putting the gasket on both surfaces would make the lid stand too far off of the grill, I was disappointed I had done all of the extra cleaning on that surface. However, now I am thinking it was a good idea to do both surfaces, even though I only glued the gasket to one surface. The reason being, the gunk on the grill was very gooey. I believe when the grill would get hot, that gooey surface would stick to the gasket and possibly pull it off. The true review of this product will be decided when I use the smoker to cook. Based on the five star reviews, I’m guessing that that part is going to go just fine. A note on the oven cleaner; follow the directions and where rubber gloves, and it would not be a bad idea to put on some form of safety goggles. Obviously the product is not designed for outdoor use, as most people‘s ovens are indoors. However, I applied this to my smoker, outdoors with a decent breeze. I just stayed up wind. I would recommend you to use your own judgment on whether or not to use this product (oven cleaner) for this purpose.

El pegamento es de mala calidad, realmente no pegó y tuve que comprar otro aparte. El material sí es bueno para sellar y resiste el calor.
