I need highlighters for my work in publishing. Plastic highlighters create an enormous amount of waste globally, plus I'm sensitive to chemicals and the scent of almost all highlighters is bad for me. THESE PENCILS!!!!!! The lead is nice and soft and easily leaves a mark on regular ink jet/copy paper (not suitable for glossy papers). The fat size of the lead leaves a nice thick line. The company makes these in a bunch of different colors, which I use in my color coded markup scheme and love having choices. There is no paint on the outside of the pencil, which is great because you get the tactile feel of smooth wood and the pencils aren't slippery, and because the paint on the outside of pencils is actually toxic. They send along excellent sharpeners to fit the pencils. ****BEST OF ALL: No more plastic waste!!!TIP: When sharpening, don't press super hard into the blade, keep a nice even smooth movement going and don't try to force it to go too quickly. Also, only sharpen to the fat size of the point you want. Sharpening out to a sharp point every time uses up the pencils faster. I find the pause to sharpen to be a nice moment to move my eyes off the screen, something I can forget to do often enough. Oh, and avoid dropping the pencils on hard surface, as the lead can break at the point or inside, which again, uses up the pencils faster. I adore this pencil and this company!

Same highlighter quality as ink highlighters except they don't bleed thru the paper. Soft crayon like pencils. Doesn't smudge.I found the pencils that are sold and shipped by Stubby Pencil Studios were of better quality than the ones shipped by amazon. The amazon shipped Eco Highlighters didn't have the Stubby Pencil name on them; and didn't have the same soft crayon like quality.

I have used a lot of highlighters for my work, always felt quilty about that, so pleased to have found a green option! Color is vibrant, lead is soft enough to move easily through big swaths of text, but doesn't shred, smudge or budge. have had no problem sharpening the pencil with the sharpeners that accompany. Shipping was prompt, arrived without damage. Will definitely re-order soon, I bought a lot to share and they were a hit!

LOVE THESE!!! Have gone thru so many dry highlighters that break all the time. These are great. Will purchase again. Bought the dozen, it's cheaper that way. And you get a sharpener.

Once you use these you'll never buy another plastic highlighter again. I have a heavy reader and like to do lots of highlighting as I read a lot of science and novels in languages other than English, where I like to highlight both concepts and new words.. These work so well and when you are done with them you have a tiny stub of a pencil to toss, not another plastic piece of s*** that is not recyclable. These also come in a set of varied colors which I love.
