Expensive but effective
Effective if applied like a a shaving foam. Keep for 2 hours and it will be effective for 1 hour. Though price is too high for such small jar.

Skeptical at first but had the Best Tattoo Experience EVER!!
I don’t ever write reviews but I just couldn’t miss the opportunity to write this for anyone who is skeptical about this product as much as I was! I saw a lot of people saying that their tattoo experiences were basically pain free...and they were absolutely right! I just got my shin tattooed today and I followed all of the steps and had great success. I lathered it on my leg and wrapped it with Saran Wrap about 1.5-2 hours before my session. It took about 30-35 minutes for my shin area to “feel numb.” About 5 minutes before my session I used the Saran Wrap to help wipe off the product and then used a dry washcloth to wipe the rest away. I could tell that it was numb at that point but it did burn/sting a little bit once it all came off but it might have just been because it was so numb and the washcloth wasn’t the softest. Anyways during the session my artist did a small “test line” to let me get a feel for what pain I should expect and no joke there was literally NO PAIN! I looked down to see if she had already started or not and she had and I couldn’t feel it! I got through the entire outline and most of the shading without feeling a thing! It was an hour and 15 mins into the session and that’s when it started to wear off in some areas and that’s when I started to really feel the pain. I only had about 15-20 minutes of shading and touching up without full numbness and I was SO GLAD that I had this product on for the beginning because had I not...that would have been the 2nd worst tattoo pain I’ve ever had...the first being my ribs 🥴 I wish I had this product for that! But if you are skeptical or questioning if this product is worth it...it definitely is! I will for sure be using this product again! However, do be careful with how much you use because you could use to much and get sick (I did read about toxicity with to much lidocaine) but just wanted to give a little disclaimer.

numbs the arm which reduces pain of the tattoo needle
i’m in the process of getting a sleeve tattoo and this product is amazing becuz it numbs my arm. here is my technique. note the longer the gel remains in skin the more numbing. i apply a coat to area or in my case my whole arm as sometimes i don’t know where tattoer will work on. once i’ve applies gel i use a small 2 gal transparent garbage bag. cut the end off and slip my arm into it wrapping than wear a long sleeve shirt or long sleeve compression shirt. so why i do this is so the gel does not dry up and allows me to drive to tattoo studio and stuff remains in my arm instead of just drying up and or smearing in clothes etc. by wrapping it up. you are keeping it wet which creates more numbing as the skin soaks all it can. once i arrive to tattoo studio i use baby wipes to clean arm. one hour of doing this means my arm remains totally numb for about 2.5hrs and i literally feel zero pain. if i know it’s a small area i’ll apply gel which it than drys up in 5min or so. i let it be like that for 20min than use baby wipes to clean off my arm and it’ll be numb for about 30min which is good enough for shading in. i highly recommend this product if i plan to do 3hr tat sessions as it will allow u to relax more. feeling less pain which means u sit still longer which is vital to getting good tattoo lines. i heard some use food wrapper cellonefane but pain in butt to do one handed trust me a small clear trash bag is really the quickest and easiest way to go plus super quick to just remove. i learnt about lidocaine and tattoos after i started it and now that i use it i can assure it has zero impact on ink or the needle going in so it’s a no brainer. i will always use this product to simply make my tat experience more enjoyable.

godsend for my tattooing pain!!!
I underwent a double mastectomy a couple of years ago and am now having a scar cover up tattoo done. With over 15 inches of scarring you can imagine it's a rather large tattoo (love it but it is big. Anyway, the first session was horrible and after 3 hours my fingers were curled and I couldn't move them then went home and slept for 7 hours afterwards. I decided after that experience that I either didn't want to finish the tattoo or to find something to numb the pain and since I loved my design I opted to find something to help with pain management and after some research decided to give Numb 520 a go.... I couldn't have asked for a better experience!!!! I slathered it on a half hour before my tattooing appointment (forgot to take saran wrap with me so just hoped my shirt didn't rub it off - and it worked like a charm. For the most part I didn't feel anything but the vibrations of the tattoo gun except for a couple areas where my shirt had rubbed off the cream (shoulder bones and fatty area near underarms - where side boob would be). Where the tattooing was the worst during the first session (middle of my chest - boney area with not much meat) was even numbed so I was extremely happy with my experience. Even my tattoo artist commented that it was a totally different experience this time and she could tell how relaxed I was. LOL The artist, one of the other artists and the tattoo shop owner took note of the product - it's that good! I had a 4 1/2 hour session and could have easily gone even longer but my husband needed a few hours sleep before he had to go back to work so we opted to leave the color for my next appointment - which I'm now looking forward to instead of dreading.! My husband says I cheated, I say, why suffer when you don't have to?

the best you're going to find on amazon.
ok so this stuff is weird. i've had it numb me completely in some places and i've had it not work at all in others. i have bought it 7 times so i do like it but you have to use A LOT the whole bottle for a medium size tattoo. luckily my artist is a speed tattooist it's crazy how fast she is and the work is amazing. 1. use the whole jar 2. wrap in plastic wrap tape it up so it won't leak out 3.very important give it 3 good hours before you get tattooed. it worked great on all my leg tattoos (i'm heavily tattooed about 50% of my body is inked) it did not work at all under my chin and jaw line area at all unfortunately because it hurt so bad. i use this stuff every time i go which is once a month if it works great if not oh well. i hate getting tattooed but looking at me you'd think i love the way they feel while being applied. lol so id day if your going for an easy non painful spot this stuff is great it doesn't last that long though like an hour and a half to two hours IT MUST be wiped off before tattooing. so get that stencil on and start ASAP. yes i know i'm a huge wimp lol the coffin cat i did not feel a thing it's fairly large on my outer thick thigh. nor the others around it. like i said it's the best your gonna get on amazon i've tried like 10 different brands. if your new to getting ink i'd definitely recommend it or if you just are a wuss with a low pain tolerance like myself it's worth it but not for a huge piece. i'll answer any questions you have :) good luck with your tattooing experience!

Wish I bought it sooner 😭
Buy immediately. Anyone saying this doesn’t work didn’t follow proper instructions. Apply a GENEROUS amount to the skin and wrap up for minimum an hour. Sat through 2 full 6 hour sessions on a back piece until session 3 when I finally bought this to try it and lord I wish I did sooner 😭😭😭
