Somewhat warm after 8hrs
This flask was design in collaboration with Pete Cromer who is renowned for his signature bursts of colour and beautiful textures, all reflected in his bold collages, painting and sculptures. This flask is no different and reflects his style well, he is inspired by the optimistic personalities in people and wildlife. The flask is based on his Galah design and is stainless steel accommodating 500ml of liquid. It is double walled insulated. One thing I don’t understand though is why the makers decide to enclose the instructions inside the flask there is nothing more annoying than trying to take these out. It is advised for use with liquids only not soups or food.I like that it will cut down on single use plastic as I can use for hot and cold liquids.I tested the flask with hot coffee, I heated the flask with boiling water and added the coffee. At 1.30pm the coffee was 80.2 degrees, when I returned from work I check it at 9.30pm (8hrs later) it was 56.4. While this was still somewhat warm it was not as warm as I would like but to be honest I wouldn’t be drinking it this late normally it would be my lunchtime coffee break so the temperature will be perfect for a few hours. I do love the vibrant colour and design of this flask which is why I give it 4*

Fairly simple but well-made flask, lovely style
Beyond the artwork, the design of this water bottle is very minimal, or minimalist. A fairly basic geometric bottle shape houses a functional double-walled vacuum flask that performs decently with both cold and hot drinks, without being top of the class or doing anything clever. Functionally it’s perfectly average, and gives a good heat retention. If I’m being fussy I’d say that the smooth texture of the artwork gives less grip than some other water bottles that have textured exteriors, which might be awkward if you’ve got sweaty hands (from exercise etc.), but that’s very minor. The artwork is rather lovely though. I got a Cockatoo one and the blue that dominates the design is a lovely rich navy, not too dark, shiny and rather appealing. The bird design is an usual blend of rough curves with some intriguingly placed colour triangles that gives it a fair bit of character, and feels just a little bit modern, just a little bit 1980’s in its boldness. This is neither the best nor worst water bottle I’ve tried as far as temperature retention goes, but I reckon it’s the best-looking water bottle for sure. I’m tempted to expand my collection and turn it into a set, probably with a Kingfisher or Kookaburra one.

Trendy and distinctive with top thermos credentials
There must be hundreds of these insulated drinks bottles on the market, but I’ve never come across one that looks anywhere near as distinctive and colorful as this. And this cute cockatoo model doesn’t just look good, its thermos credentials are top notch into the bargain. At 500ml, the size is perfect for fitting in a car drinks holder or even into a big handbag. This makes it eminently more portable than the more common liter size, which I find too big and clunky for carrying around. .I’m using my bottle exclusively for water so that I can stay hydrated when out and about. I like my water ice cold, and the wide neck on this allows me to add in a few ice cubes. I usually drink 500ml within a few hours, so I can’t really envisage a situation where I’d test the bottle to its 24 hour limit. However, for the sake of this review, I did try it out and can confirm that the 24 claim is 100% accurate.I also tested the bottle with tea, filling it with freshly boiled water and leaving it at room temperature for eight hours. After four hours, the tea was still hot enough that you had to sip it. After eight hours, it had cooled slightly but was still perfectly drinkable.Other important points:- the bottle has a solid, flat base, which I prefer to the dimple style as it is more stable and impervious to dents- the screw-on lid has a coated thread so screws off and on like a dream- the bottle is 100% leakproof- it is not dishwasher safe, which makes sense given the enamel coating and designIt couldn’t be happier with this brilliant product and award it five stars without hesitation. Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Good quality and well performing, with a distinctive, attractive design
This is a well-made and well-functioning insulated drinks bottle, with the added bonus of being quite different and distinctive from the norm, courtesy of the attractive artwork on the lower section of the bottle. It’s just a shame that the designers have, for some reason, only decided to use the artwork on one side of the bottle, meaning that, when viewed from the opposite side, it looks just like any other pink drinks bottle. My personal preference would be to have the artwork on both sides. It’s claimed that the bottle can keep drinks hot for ‘up to 8 hours’. As is the case with most of these types of bottles, depending on where you keep the bottle and how hot you like your drinks where you keep the bottle, 8 hours might be slightly optimistic. I filled the bottle with hot water, just off the boil, sealed it tightly and left it in a reasonably warm room. Eight hours later, when I opened the bottle, the water temperature had dropped to 69℃. I suspect the same proviso also might apply to the claim of ‘up to 24 hours’ for cool drinks. However, I have no doubt that the bottle would keep your drink cool for pretty much a working day, which probably is as long as most people need anyway. The cap fits the bottle well, screwing down nice and tightly with a perfect seal. No matter how I stored and treated the bottle there wasn’t any sign of leakage. You are probably paying a premium of £1-£2 over other insulated bottles for the benefit of having a distinctive, attractive design. I’m not sure I would pay that much extra for my own use but would do so if it was intended as a gift for someone else.
