Skar Audio DDX-10 D2 10" 1500W Max Power Dual 2 Car Subwoofer

I ordered two of these 15 in subs and did the triple deuce, which is two batteries, two amps, and 2 subs. For the money these subs do hit hard, but only if you have good wiring, a good battery, a good ported box(not a sealed one), a decent alternator, the wires hooked up correctly, the sub or subs hooked up correctly, and the right amount of amp RMS wattage output. If not, then you're more than likely going to fry the sub, start a fire in your trunk and/or have a sub or subs that sound like trash or rattling cans in the trunk

Went into this purchase with an open mind, as I have never heard a Skar sub before. Had two friends recommended this to replace a crappy RF P2D4-10 I was suffering with. Well, they were right. Not only did it arrive in two days (ordered Sat night, received Mon), but it blows the RF sound quality out of the water. It gets down low and is very loud for a 10. Can't wait to see what it can do after break in. I have this running off an older Kicker ZX 750.1 @ just under half gain (for break in), should be able to go 3/4 afterwards (TBD). In short, these things are definitely worth the $$ Note: I had to cut the opening in the enclosure bigger to accommodate this sub's bigger mounting diameter, and this thing is HEAVY. NOTE #2: These NEED a 2.0 ft3 ported box, sound just is not right in a smaller enclosure. Update after over a year beating on this thing (more it beating me up). Still does not fail to impress! Even upgraded the amp to a Kicker KX 1600.1 and it LOVES the power, only problem now..... I need a second battery to run that amp! Never in my life did I think I would have to run a second battery on a system with only 1 10" sub in it, but here I am..... LOL They're so good, my friend that is a subwoofer snob just bought one to replace his 2 12's he thought were so amazing.

I bought this based on good reviews. However it does not sound good. Highly boomy.

It's hard to believe this subwoofer costs $160. The build quality is top notch. It has a high roll surround, stitched surround, the tinsel leads are woven into the spider, super heavy motor structure and basket. All things you usually see on a much more expensive woofer. I built a ported box to skar audio specs, 2.5 cubic foot net internal volume with a 32 square inch port 19 inches long. I did a 1.5 inch front baffle to reduce any flex. The woofer is being powered by a Rockford fosgate bd1001cp that's rated at 1483rms @1ohm. So far I'm extremely pleased with the low end frequency response and the overall accuracy of the woofer. It's incredibly loud and quite powerful. I don't hear the sub struggle whatsoever even when I really hammer on it. It can be a little sloppy on some more rapid bass notes, but I attribute most of that to the fact that it's in a giant ported box. Being a first time customer to skar audio I was a little skeptical on what I was getting just because the prices are so competitive. But I'm pleasantly surprised, I would definitely recommend skar audio to anyone who is on the fence. On another good note, shipping was fast, 3 days from the time I ordered. And like the other reviews have said, the woofer came in 3 boxes, one larger Amazon box with some paper padding, and then 2 separate skar audio boxes. The subwoofer motor is packaged in a big piece of formed foam that keeps it from moving, along with a piece of cardboard with foam on the cone and surround of the woofer. Inside all of that is the woofer wrapped in a plastic bag. So needless to say the woofer came without damage and in perfect condition.
