BabyBjörn Bouncer Balance Soft, Cotton, Black/Dark Gray (005022US)

Prior to our baby being born, we purchased a swing because I had previously read you do not need both a swing and a bouncer. However, our son doesn’t like his swing because buckling him in makes him fussy, and even though our swing has a detachable rocker, it is too heavy for me to conveniently carry around. Because our son has reflux, we have to hold him upright for 20-40 minutes after each feeding. This was taking up so much time every day I finally gave in and purchased this bouncer after reading the great reviews because the incline looked similar to holding him in our arms. The nurse hotline at our pediatrician office said a bouncer didn’t count as holding a child upright, but in my experience, it has worked perfectly for reflux. Not only is this the perfect place to set our son after feeding, he LOVES this bouncer and many times this is the only thing that calms him down when he is upset. There have been been nights where he refuses to go to sleep in my arms but will fall asleep immediately in this. Since it is not a safe sleeping device, I simply put him into bed once he falls asleep. I would recommend a Baby Bjorn bouncer to any new parent, and it is a must-have for any parent of a baby with reflux. The toy attachment is expensive but absolutely worth it. If this works for your baby, I would also recommend buying an extra cover. Since it can not go in the dryer, it took almost an entire day to air dry, and if you use this as much as we do, you will not want to wait two days for the cover to arrive. On the plus side, both spit up and pee easily came out in the wash, and the cover looked good as new! Note: I will say that I almost returned the bouncer after I saw the hideous warning label on the front of the bouncer that cannot be removed. It is unfortunate that a few people ruined it for everyone because the warnings are common sense and also highlighted in the instruction manual. I almost deducted a star for the label, but after further research found that it is actually required for all bouncers made after 2018 based on a new consumer safety law.

With my first baby I got a cheap bouncer seat with the vibrator in it available just about anywhere. It quickly became one of the more despised baby items and was donated. My experience with traditional baby bouncer seats is that babies do not like or notice the vibrator setting-it's just a waste of money (they eat expensive batteries), they are bulky and feel cheaply made, they are very quickly outgrown, and are usually an eye sore (the baby stuff is cute at first but as a first time parent you'll more than likely start to feel like you are drowning in a home full of "cutesy" baby things). The Baby Bjorn Bouncer resolves all of these issues and give you a truly durable and functional product well worth the money. The seat is preassembled (unlike most) which gives you one less thing to put together while preparing for baby-a big plus! It also collapses so that it can be stored very easily even in many narrow spaces. This is especially great when storing it for the next baby. I love that the seat design is simple, sleek, and light weight enough I can bring into any room of the house to have baby happily bounce right next to me. Another huge huge plus is how easy it is to wash. The cover simply slides off and goes right in the wash. No pulling or untangling the belt buckles to remove it-and it washes very nicely (i.e. No pilling!). Possibly what really makes this worth the price, is the longevity of use. Being able to use this through toddlerhood is what seals the deal-nor do I have to worry about my current toddler trying to use it when baby is not. I really wish I would've looked past the price tag of this seat with my first baby to see the true value in such a functional well designed baby product. Definitely a must have item for new (or new again!) parents! P.s. if price really is an issue consider buying an "open box" condition one from amazon for a great discount.

Buy this!!!!! stop shopping around. It really is the best product ever! This should go on every registry. I am bummed that I didnt find it earlier. It's sleek and sophisticated. It is natural, eco friendly and high quality!! the color alone is beautiful, the picture does it no justice. I bought the creme one and it looks great! it feels ever so soft too!!! Four positions for baby. I love that it folds flat for travel... so great for moms and dads on the move! The price is more than other ones but I promise you get what you pay for and this one is GREAT!!!! We didnt want a bunch of gawdy baby stuff everywhere and this is perfect for that. It looks classy! After lots of research, we purchased this when our daughter was around 2 months old. She's turning 2 YEARS old in a couple of weeks and this thing is STILL going strong! Our daughter has always loved this thing. We received those vibrating ones and so on as gifts but our daughter out grew them very quickly and they were 'unnatural' per se. This one is much more natural, mimicking the womb as it bounces naturally without a motor. This benefit also keeps it light and easy to fold and carry. Our daughter uses this to lounge and watch TV or drink her bottle and nap. As she got older, we transfer her from this to her bed after she fell sleep. This cost A LOT of money! It was worth every penny. 2 years in and the quality you pay for is still there. I love how it can be washed so easily; since our daughter uses it often. Now we're expecting our second child and we're going to see if our daughter will share this with her new sibling. Its in good enough condition not to have to buy another one. One more thing - since our daughter is 2 years old - she's a big 2 - the size of a 3 year old; we now have to fold up one of her blankets and put it behind her head. This is because her head is against the railing as she's technically too tall for this. She doesn't care. A little soft blanket-pillow and she still lounges it in like she did as an infant. Her feet are on the floor and she can't get enough of thing thing. This was a fantastic investment. My husband will use his foot to rock her sometimes. Also, since its not bulky I can cuddle next to her on the floor while she's in it. She's too big to be strapped in, but she doesn't want to get out of it anyway for the most part. As a toddler, when she's ready for bed, we know because she will put herself in it and say "ready night night"! The black color is also professionally looking and doesn't make our house look like it has a bunch of baby themed stuff; it's a polished- professional looking style, not with a bunch of baby animals printed on it or something. Additionally, it's not bulky. This thing is just perfect.
