TOOK ONLY AN HOUR TO COVER THE BOTTOM WITH BUGS!
I bought this as a gift for my nephew who lives in the country with a lot of flying insects. I did not touch base with him, about the unit, until earlier this month. I was visiting and he told me the unit did not work at all. When I looked at the unit I asked why the light was not on. He stated the unit has never lit up. Thankfully I had ordered a replacement bulb (just in case). While he went in search of it, others began taking the unit apart to change the bulb. Low and behold two wires were never connected. After couple of minutes to attach the wires and put it back together we plugged it in and there was light! We checked the unit after an hour and the bottom of the unit was covered with bugs. SUCCESS! My nephew and family are excited and I am pleased. Though one would think the unit would be doubled checked that the wires are connected. However, since the unit is now working flawlessly I am giving this product 5 stars!

Absolute waste of money - DOES NOT WORK for Mosquitos
Hi All, So I bought this thing back in 2017 and I'm just now writing a review because I'm absolutely frustrated with the, not poor performance, but the no performance on Mosquitos. I bought this unit because I live in West Texas and I am sick and tired of being eaten alive by Mosquitos. Hooked it up and it caught tons of moths at our old house. My wife finally had me take it down because it wasn't working. Well here it is in 2021 and we bought a different house. This year for some reason we have had and continue to have a very wet summer and the Mosquitoes are out in droves. For example last night I went outside around 7:30 PM, (still light outside) to clean the pools filter, (maybe 10 minutes total) and in that short period of time I was bitten 15-20 times, (nothing like itching bumps all over to encourage a restful night of sleep). So I decided to try to hook this thing up again to see if it works. So I got it out of the garage and hooked it up in the back yard. Now you did read the part where I said there are Mosquitos in droves, like clouds of them. The unit ran all night long and it caught a ton of moths, and a few other little bug, but it didn't catch one single itty, bitty teeny, tiny Mosquito, NOT ONE!! This thing is total junk, and it does not work as advertised. I see some positive reviews, not sure where those are coming from, maybe the Mosquitoes are smarter in West Texas. Somebody should probably sue them for false advertising PLEASE do yourself a favor and avoid this device like a plague of Mosquitoes. And it's not cheap, I paid $110.00 dollars for it. Itchy in Texas Update: I called the company prior to posting this review to see if maybe I had a defective unit or if there was something I could do to make it work better. They only suggestion is that I buy their expensive packets of attractant to try and lure mosquitos into the trap, which of course even if it works has to be replaced every 30-60 days. I read reviews of the attractant and a lot of people claim its worthless. This device is a complete scam and I am considering filing a complaint with the BBB and other consumer protection agencies. I will never buy another product from DynaTrap again.

Loved it and was effective until it quit working prematurely!
I normally go outside and get eaten alive. We purchase this in March in southeast Indiana. I live in a area that has ponds everywhere and a creek in my back yard. I had already gotten bit in March. We plugged it in and within a few weeks I was no longer getting bitten. It was catching mosquitoes and other pesky flying insects. After 2 months the light quit working. I ordered a replacement and plugged it in and it didn't work either. Not sure what the problem is but we are trying to contact the company and get a replacement. It hasn't been in operating order for about a week and a half now. I sat outside just now and was bitten 4 times on the foot. I was outside for maybe a half hour. Obviously it was working before that. Fingers crossed that we get a replacement and that it lasts alot longer than 2 months! Update on this review! The manufacturer reached our and are sending a new trap.! So happy customer!

Works Great but warning
DynaTrap DT1775 works great, the flying insects have diminished greatly. However, my trap stopped working after about 30 days of use. Found out ants had gathered around the ballast of the device and formed an electrical arc with there body's that ended up frying the ballast. Resulting in the light not working. DynaTrap customer service was great and got me set up with a new one quickly. My advice is to put some ant killer around so the ants dont kill your DynaTrap. Other than that the device is great. While the trap was working I didn't see a single mosquito. It wasn't until a few days after the device stopped working that I started to get bit again. (dont believe me about the ants? look it up! It's a pretty interesting read)

Easy to repair
We've had two of these for about 6 months now. They catch an enormous amount of wasps, cockroaches, June bugs, and of course mosquitoes. I have to empty the baskets every week to keep the airflow from clogging up. *Update* so after 5 years, our original two were filthy and the fans were starting to make noise. I just ordered two more and I:)) strip the old ones for replacement parts. I cleaned them and replaced the bulbs each spring but they were basically on non-stop for 9 months a year. The only failure was a ballast that was easily replaced. I hope the LED ones are just as good in 5 years when these are due. These are the first item I've bought in a long time that isn't disposable. The ballast on one of ours just went out. It was easy to access, and because it's a simple through hole PCB design, I was able to replace the $2 fuse and capacitor without replacing the ballast. I can't fault them for the failure as it occurred during a thunderstorm. It would be nice if the fuse were a standard plug in blade type instead of soldered. I love that I can keep this sucker working as long as bulbs are available to fit it. Less landfill trash.

Was a beetle magnet until I got the crappy replacement bulb
So far it works great for us! That was about 2 weeks worth of beetles, gnats, etc. We have only had it up for a couple weeks so it’s too soon to tell if it has had an impact on our mosquito population. The gnats swarm this thing like crazy (instead of me) so it’s a winner in my book. Update-4 weeks in and the bulb just went out. So much for 3 months! Of course it happened 2 days after the return window closed. Hopefully, it was a fluke, but I am not super optimistic at this point. I will update if the replacement bulb lasts as long as they say it should. Second update- Replacement bulb is not nearly as bright as original bulb. Only draws about half the insects the first bulb did. It is very disappointing. Had to update my review of the Dynatrap to reflect this since my original bulb only last just under a month. A product is only as good as the consumable parts necessary to keep it functioning.

Very Effective and Great Customer Service
We purchased this in April after the wet spring sent our mosquito population through the roof. We have a small yard surrounded by wetlands. While not eliminating all the mosquitos, it made our yard bearable during the evening hours. After about 4 months the light burned out and I attempted to replace it. The replacement bulb(s) didn't work, but after some troubleshooting on my part and one quick email to Dynatrap, they sent out a new one to replace the malfunctioning one. We've had zappers before and they were annoying...this is a far better solution and far more effective in my opinion. Just be forewarned...we captured so many mosquitos that after a week the bottom of the trap was about 1" of furry mush...so it's rather gross to empty.

Junk.. do not waste your money
Update 9-24-21 Dead after six months of use. Went to put away the Dynatrap for the season and safely store it. Finally received replacement bulbs installed a new bulb since the original was fading. The old one separated at the base when it was removed. Pulled out the rest of the old bulb which was no problem. Installed a new bulb and plugged in the unit and no UV light. Tried a second new bulb and no luck. No UV light and we have a piece a junk. Nothing smoked, nothing popped. Warning: do not waste your money. It doesn’t last. Update 7/3/21 after 3 months of use No mosquitoes this year during the late evening and night. Works better than expected. Hope it lasts. Other than the purple bulb that needs replacing once a season this does the job. Order a couple of spare bulbs before buying this. Works great. Been in service for two months and it has done the job. Have not seen a mosquito in the area around this unique device for attracting bugs.

110V only
It only takes 110V power input, and cannot run on 220 V without a power transformer. Should not be offered in the UK and European countries where voltage is 220.

Excelente pero se deben esperar resultados con paciencia.
Funciona perfecto solo hay que dar su tiempo para ver los resultados pero en 20 días ya hay 70% menos mosquitos.
