What's the secret to removing the old blade and inserting a new one? Does it slide in and out from the back end?

I've never had to remove the old blade and replace it. I just use pliers to snap off the dulled little piece which reveals a new, sharp edge. Once the whole blade is used up, I usually just toss it. I don't know if it's replaceable or not.

What do you do when it jams after you replaced the blade? This didn’t happen the first time I replaced the blade

Just take it apart and clean it with soap and water and a small brush (like a toothbrush). This is a precision made tool, and by and far the best in it's class I might add. The specs are tight, so if a little debris (such as dirt or pocket lint), gets into the sliding track grooves, it can block the blade from extending. Remember to air dry the parts separately before re-assembling. With proper cleaning and care, this high quality, heavy duty tool will dutifully serve you for a lifetime. I keep this very model on me at all times (L-500GRP).

Well-built product-- a cut above the rest );

This product is very solid and well‑built. I like the feel of the handle, and the blade has small (about 1/4”) sections you can remove with needle‑nose pliers to expose fresh, sharp cutting edges. The black circular lock holds the blade tight. Never had a problem with this product.

Very solid construction, the blade itself is nice and sharp The aluminum body feels surprisingly soft and comfortable. I think they are coated with a polymer.
