Cast iron handles get hot and these are your solution. It only takes once and you'll see the need. Was also looking for frying pan handles

Liked them ver much do wish they fit a bit tighter. Keeps the heat away from my hands and much safer than pot holders.

Works as promised, but when heated over 500 degrees, I strongly suggest using a mitt or glove for safety. When i place this on an open flame wood burning grill I super heat the pan. It sears ribeye's and filet mignon's to perfection. When you remove after cooking (my recommendation is that you don't leave it on the grill as it will make it harder to clean) you want to use the silicone handles and an oven mitt or glove of some sort.

I bought these to use with my grill basket and covered casserole cookware items. They work great, providing a good grip while keeping me from burning my fingers on hot cooking handles!

I hoped these could just stay on my skillet while cooking, but they have a loose, sloppy fit and enough heat comes up the side of the skillet or through the cover that they become hot. If their only use is to sit on the counter and be grabbed each time, then they are just another goober in the drawer and I'll use my towel or pot holder. Waste of money. In case it is helpful, I have the Lodge 5qt double Dutch Oven with a lid that is a skillet. The skillet / lid has ear handles that these covers are meant to fit. I use the skillet on the stovetop and am reporting for that use.

A absolute must for anyone who owns a lodge cast iron frying pan, fits perfectly and easy clean up.

These have been extremely helpful for handling a hot skillet. They practically don't transfer any heat through. Be aware, though, that if you leave it on the pan during cooking, it will take on a lot of heat from the stove, especially if you're using multiple burners. I'd recommend that you put it on when you need it to handle the pan or skillet and remove it while on the burner. It doesn't fit very snugly, so it's easy to put on and remove as needed.
