Absolutely beautiful piano tones
The most beautiful piano tone using SK-EX Concert Grand on this this digital piano. Action is so fluid and smooth. A complete joy to use.

Great keyboard for anyone wanting the touch of an upright or grand piano
While I am not a concert pianist I have played for weddings and just general fun. I had a piano my whole life and when we moved to a different place, I didn’t have the space. So absolutely thrilled with this Kawai ES920 keyboard, although there’s lots of options and looping and different instrumental things that you can do with it just the piano component is absolutely excellent.

Superior Sound. Inferior Action !!
The piano sound samples of the SK Grand is outstanding... one of the best if not the best piano sample in the portable digital piano market. However, there is a strange issue with the RHIII action... and it has something to do with the "let off" / escapement. Keep in mind, this is not something that a novice will even notice. But there is something unrealistic about it and feels gummy. This causes unrealistic responses when playing very soft dynamics. Maybe that's why when NORD purchased the RHIII from Kawai, they excluded the escapement feature . I think I know exactly why NORD did this. If you are a very skilled jazz or classical pianist, you will definitely notice this gummy weirdness in Kawai's RH3 action. And it will bother you. Too bad , because everything else about the ES920 is fantastic. Kawai needs to redesign the RH3 and fix this "gummy" issue with the let off. Some people have complained about the noise of the action and the bounciness of the keys. I didn't find either to be an distracting issue. You can play trills and repeated notes perfectly well. The problem with the action has something to do with the rubbery let off which creates an unrealistic gummy action as you depress the key. And this DOES NOT feel like a quality acoustic grand piano.

Great piano sounds and touch
Great feel to the keys and great piano sound. I like the variety in piano types you can select. Easy to setup and use. Light enough in weight to move from room to room. I bought the stand designed for it, as well as the matching pedal board to make a complete system. It's a little expensive compared to other designs and makers, but the piano sounds are superior. Very happy with my purchase. Much more compact than an acoustic piano (of any type), and more flexible too, with NO loss of tone quality or functionality.

Great piano, terrible speakers
I was looking forward to this piano for months and was excited to find one available. I live in an apartment and have some significant noise considerations and connected to headphones the sound is incredible. I love the key action too - it feels fantastic compared to other digital pianos I've played over the years. The thing you do not want to find out is that the speakers built in to the unit sound garbled and crackle across the breadth of the keyboard - which was my experience when I finally had the opportunity to play unplugged. We shall see how Kawai's warranty service is I suppose.
