Love this little thing! I fixed the hole!
My main vacuum cleaner is a rainbow, which I love but to be honest it has some disadvantages, like the weight and inconvenience. I was using a little shop vac in my laundry room and for quick pick ups. I have a couple beagles and one has the softest undercoat and sheds feathery down which can't really be swept up. The little shop vac was unwieldy and large, and the small cordless vacs I've tried in the past were not satisfactory at all. I researched small bagged vacuums and decided on the mity mite. The first one I got from Amazon was used and arrived in pieces in a taped up box with the previous owner label still on it! Shame on you Amazon! I returned it and rolled the dice on another. I'm glad I did. It's perfect for my needs. I have some carpet but mostly wood and tile floors. I also vacuum other things like tables, lampshades, etc, which is why I love a cannister so much. The suction is pretty powerful for such a small machine, and the bags work well and are inexpensive. Like others, I found the suction bypass hole on the handle inconvenient, sometimes pinching my hand. I did a hack though! I put a rubber band around it, and made a line with a silver sharpie. Now it stays closed or open, however I want it. I can visually see by the way the line is if it is open or closed. I've included a couple pics, I hope they illustrate what I did. I keep this one plugged in my laundry room by the kitchen. It's a simple matter to run it in my kitchen, den and hall which is not carpet. I also got a miela (not from Amazon) that I keep at the other end of the house. The cheap mity mite holds it's own in performance. Of course the miela is a little better in most ways but the little eureka is lighter and can get under some of my furniture better. I still get out my rainbow, it has the power head for my carpets, plus the nice smell, but I can now just whip out a vacuum at a moment's notice, it keeps the dust down. It's better to vacuum frequently instead of once a week more thoroughly. Edited: I have just purchased a third one of these because it was on sale. The piece over the switch broke on my first one but it didn't really affect anything, you could still press the button. A friend needed a small vacuum for her tiny house so I gave that one to her, as I had already gotten another. I was checking prices and this vacuum was on sale so I got a back up. This has become my most used vacuum. It's so much easier to vacuum than sweep.

Transformed dusty rental into a livable place
This vacuum has been fantastic. I recently moved into a rental that was unbelievably dusty, with years of dust packed into the crevices along the baseboards and woodwork. This vacuum made a huge difference. I love the bagged design, being able to throw the bag away without a cloud of dust or touching anything. I was tried of my battery-powered vacuum that always seem to die when I have one room left to clean, and it doesnโt pick up everything. This vacuum has consistent suction from start to finish and gets the job done every time. The attachments are great, too. I was even able to remove years of lint from an old laundry machine that I couldn't reach before. Itโs easy to move around and not too heavy. I also bought a steam cleaner and a scrub brush, and together with this vacuum, they completely transformed the apartment.

Vacuum for you if you own dogs
If you have animals this is the machine you need! This vacuum is so light and the cord is so long, it's quicker than sweeping. The hose is so long that you don't even have to lift it to reach the ceiling. No clogging you get from the bag less vacuums. Not so great on rugs but A+ on everything else. With the price point I would buy one every 6 months if it doesn't hold up.

Handy little vacuum with powerful suction.
Does a great cleaning job, light weight with a full complement of accessories and itโs not expensive. Iโm a little concerned about the longevity because itโs all plastic construction and it feels kind of cheap, but it does work very well. This replaces an old Hoover porta power that Iโve had for about 40 years. It still works, but the hose connection is so worn out It wonโt stay on, and the suction is only half as good as this new one. Thatโs why I replaced it with this. so far I like it.

It is actually a little surprisingly light
Edit, July 2025: It is still going very strong, and I am surprised at how good it is every time I use it. Never ended up getting a new head for it, seems like an extra expense for such a mild inconvenience of picking the hair out of the brush. depends on the user preference, I guess. I do wish the tubes could lock in with a little peg or something, but overall still an insanely good, powerful. lightweight vacuum. just make sure to firmly stick the tubes in there. Could be superglued together, if you don't take it apart to store it. I keep it in the original box in the closet for now. Might glue it once I have more space. Original review, Oct. 2024: Good suction and pretty easy to use. There isn't much more I could want from a vacuum. I can keep it in one of our small cabinets which is also nice. Only real gripe I have with it is that I wish i could attach the head to the body of the vacuum so it can stand on its own if i need to move something. Other than that, solid vacuum for sure. No need to break the bank. Might need to get an attachment for carpet if you have a lot of carpet/rugs. It still works on ours but would be better with an attachment.

It's light
Update after owning this for over a year. It is SO LOUD that I don't use it as much as I should which allows the dust bunnies to really multiply. The hose and cord have not gotten any less stiff over time. The cord is a bit shorter than I'm used to as well. ********** I've only used this twice since I got it. The vacuum I'm replacing is a Kenmore upright from the mid-90s. I no longer have any carpet and was tired of lugging the Kenmore up and down the stairs just to use the crevice tool, so I started researching smaller vacuums. Literally all I vacuum up in the house is cat hair and dust bunnies. I hadn't really finished my research when this turned up as a "Lightening Deal" over Thanksgiving. I thought it had decent reviews for pet hair and suction and the price wasn't bad, so I ordered it. First impressions: it is nice and light and is as much a joy to bring up and down stairs as one could expect from a vacuum. The suction is great! It is loud, but my old one wasn't super quiet anyway. I'm a little worried the floor attachment will scratch my hardwood but so far it seems ok. Some of the negatives: Cord doesn't retract which isn't a huge issue, but it's super stiff! I can see it will be difficult to loop up and out of the way. Hose - holy plastic stiffness! I sure hope they offer a replacement to it because I can't see it lasting. And because it's plastic, it will get bound up as you're trying to move around. The old rubber hoses did rip but they were easy to move. Again, with this being a canister, being able to wrap the hose and cord around the body would go a long way. The suction adjustment on the extension wand moves in the opposite direction of every other vacuum I've used in the past 40 years. I hit it often with my hand and close it out of habit, but am actually opening it completely. I don't know why such a simple thing would be reversed after all this time, but it is. Funny thing too - the little notch on the plug used to secure the cord when you wrap it is also backwards. It's usually on the bottom of a plug but this one is on the top. (sure, call me nit-picky, but it says cheap construction to me) There is nowhere to store the extension wands that I see. At 5'2", I really only needed to use one to reach the ceiling. I may change the rating the more I use it. Really feel this is a 3.5 star unit but Amazon only allows us full stars.

Worth the money!
This is truly a MITY MITE! I had replaced my Dirt Devil (from 35 years) prior which actually burned out. I struggled with locating a comparable replacement. I have a Eureka upright (without a bag) which I use on my porch and garage-this little vacuum is AMAZING-for car and garage steps, etc.. One thing another reviewer suggested is the "suction ring" on the hose needs to be closed and it is a bit flimsy, so I keep my finger on it-the other used placed a piece a tape to keep it closed-portably is not necessary and the unit could do without this feature.

Eureka Mighty Mite: Compact Powerhouse
The Eureka Mighty Mite is an exceptional choice for anyone seeking a vacuum that balances performance with portability. Weighing less than 9 pounds, it is incredibly light and easy to carry between rooms or up and down stairs without strain. Key Highlights: * Versatile Cleaning: The powerful suction works wonders on hard floors, area rugs, and low-pile carpets. * Ease of Use: Its compact design allows it to maneuver into tight spaces and under furniture effortlessly. * Convenient Features: The long power cord and extension wand provide plenty of reach, while the onboard tools make dusting and crevice cleaning a breeze. Points to Consider: Wand Durability: While the vacuum is lightweight, the plastic wand can be somewhat fragile. It may crack if handled too roughly or dropped, so it is best to use a gentle touch during assembly and storage to ensure it lasts. If you are looking for a reliable, no-nonsense canister vacuum that won't weigh you down, the Mighty Mite is a fantastic value.

THIS VACUUM SUCKS! FINALLY!! โญโญโญโญโญ
Sooo this vacuum is heaven in comparison to the Frankenvacuums I've had lately. The canister vacuums I had continuously broke or pieces broke and they were okay suction. I wish I would have switched to this bagged vacuum a long time ago! It has awesome suction to the point that it was sucking my carpet tiles off the floor. Wicked suction, The extender poles extend to about 7 ft it feels like. Seriously feels like you could vacuum your neighbor's house from yours. I'm amazingly impressed with this vacuum!!

Good for the price. Amazing suction.
Easy to assemble. The hose and the wands are a bit on the cheap plastic side, but I am a careful person and will be using this vacuum strictly on a one bedroom apartment. The first time I turnd it on it smelled of dust, as if it had been used. I opened the lid and made sure the bag was properly placed, and turned it on again. The dust smell went away after using it for a few minutes. I don't find that the bag is held in securely and I've followed the instructions in the owner's guide. For a small vacuum the suction is amazing. The noise is bearable. I wish the attachments were a bit bigger (to clean a couch, it takes a while, if the attachments were bigger, it would clean better). I've used it twice so far and I've found that the handle gets a bit warm, not HOT but warm, hope this doesn't create problems after a while. The cord is long, which is nice in a small apartment and the hose is also long. I can recommend this vacuum but only for a small apartment.

Light, but powerful vacuum. Wonderful support department.
I bought this vacuum because it's light, but powerful, particularly for stairs. I recently did something silly and stuck the hose without the narrow attachment under a cabinet and something flew up the hose and blocked the hose assembly. This was totally my fault. I contacted the Eureka Canadian support department to ask for a replacement price and, when they saw that it was still under warranty, they covered the new hose assembly under the warranty. I had not asked for this, so I was particularly impressed with their courtesy and quick response. Wonderful support!

Good product good price
It is perfect for it price category. Good price the suction at least whilst it's new is very good. The parts are thin plastic instead of when they would be metal in premium products. But this is perfect and above I quality for the low price bracket it has.
