Q: is there a max materiial tempature flowing thru gate? what is the heat index of material slide is made of? wanting to try on a dryer for plastics

I cannot provide the analytical heat index but the gate is cast aluminum with no polymers (gaskets or seals) that I can see. The limiting heat factor would be the plastic thumb screw. All that being said, keep in mind that the cast aluminum is an excellent conductor (heat or electricity) and will conduct nearly all the heat from the air flow to the body in a very short time. So, whatever the gate is going to touch or hose connecting it need to have the same heat tolerance.

Q: Does this have mounting brackets for the wall? What secures the stability?

It is attached directly to the duct work with hose clamps and acts as an in-line gate to control the vacuum flow to different areas of your shop. The ducting itself is secured to the wall or rafters or wherever in your shop is most appropriate.

Q: are these 4 inch? Listing doesn't say

Yes, 4 inches...almost. Loose fit on most hoses but clamps make up the gap. Some gorilla type tape helps if needed. I have had no problems with them.

Q: Anyone use this with drain pvc? I am having very little luck keeping this connected in line between two of those said pvc pipes. Any pointers?

Yes the 4" drain "thin wall" fits perfectly over the male portion of the gate. I added a bit of goop, and it locked on.
