Zupreem Fruitblend Flavor Medium & Large Parrot Food 12Lb -5.44kg

I have Cockatoos and they have been on Zupreem's fruit blend for a couple of years now. I normally bought my supply from another company but someone hacked my account so until they get this straightened out I can not use my account. I was running really low and then ran out and had to do something fast. I don't know why I didn't think of Amazon to get it, it is a little more expensive and I did have to go to the post office to pick it up which is 15 miles each way but its an hour to get to a store that sells Zupreem so boy was I in a pinch. I bought them some Parrot seed and they thought I had killed them and screamed all the time, they do get fresh fruits and veges and birdie bread too so they did manage to eat some seed till this came. It was fast shipping and now my Cockatoos are very happy birds again. I will never run out again. I got the med/large for them cause they don't like the really large one and there is hardly any that they won't eat. They go through stages on which colors to eat first but usually they manage to eat it all. Try this for your birds, it does come in all sizes so there is a size that your bird would like.I paid full price for this but glad that I did for my parrots

We recently adopted a lovely Amazon that thankfully was already on a pellet diet - she has been eating a mix of this and Harrison's pellets. We love to support small businesses in our area - but this food was costing me about $12 for a small 1.5 lb bag - so buying 12 lbs for $46 is a no-brainer! It keeps well - we are just keeping it an airtight glass bin so I don't even believe we will have to freeze it.It's a great food - my girl loves the colors and she does seem to prefer this over the Harrison's pellets. She gets fresh pellets in the morning and 3 small bowls of veggies/fruits throughout the day. We try to give her at least 10 different fresh veggies/fruits every day - and she gets one or two nuts or a treat in one of the bowls a few times a week - Amazons are prone to obesity so we have to limit the seeds/nuts. She also eats lunch and dinner with us and gets a small taste of what we are having. She loves brown rice, wheat pasta, etc. - but just a tiny bit!She just had a checkup at our vet with blood tests and she has been on this food for 2 years - she is in great health so we will stick with it.

If I had to rate it based solely upon my opinion as a parront I would give it 2 stars because I cross my fingers every time I open the bag. Rarely do 2 batches ever look or smell the same and some have smelled borderline rancid despite the expiration date being 18 months away. However, my birds prefer it to every other brand I've tried over the years. Of course they do, it has the highest sugar content. The brand inconsistency scares me to death. They haven't had any recalls in recent history and my avian vet tech has noticed the same issue. It's supposed to smell like a chemically fruit loops cereal. Not linseed oil or anything else. But... They love it so I continue to buy it! ARGH!!!! My bird's feathering looks great and they have been eating this food for many years. Amazon delivered it fresh and fast. I just wish it were more consistent and then I would feel better about it. Yes, I try to incorporate other brands, but this is their decided preference.

ZuPreem provides a variety of nutritious bird pellets in colorful shapes and patterns that you don't find with some of the more expensive organic bird pellets. I prefer to give my birds the very best, so I like to get the organic pellets, but they are all dull and just greenish brown, and anyone who knows birds knows they like color and shapes and variety. Well, at least 25% of their diet comes from fresh fruits and veggies, if not more... pellets are the main part of their diet, to ensure they're getting proper nutrition... and ZuPreem helps me supplement the dull, boring pellets with some color.But we consider this like a supplement. We do Harrison's and TOPPS, then a small amount of the ZuPreem to add variety and color, and a tiny amount of healthy seeds, along with serving chop daily (chop being fresh fruits and vegetables, chopped up in a bowl, with some healthy nuts now and then).Having some choice and variety in a bird's diet is important, and ZuPreem has lots of different varieties and sizes from which to choose. It's definitely easy on the pocketbook compared to some of the more expensive pellet brands too.It's a good, economical option for healthier bird companions.

Hi, I'm Beaker, a 38-year-old Yellow Nape Amazon parrot. I can only attest to the great taste of my pelleted diet and my mom says the price is reasonable for such a quality diet. I get added veggies and fruits, too. All-in-all I have a great life except for the times I get put into the kitchen sink for a bath. It takes me a few minutes before I start enjoying it, spread my wings and creep around in the sink. BTW, I was 3 days out of the nest when I was adopted!
