An corrupt / Faulty unit
I ordered an ungreen 3.5 inch hdd enclosure to use with this hdd only to find out the hdd was corrupt. I even got it checked by a professional and he came up with the same conclusion. I tried everything I could find on the internet but to no avail. It just won’t format and open. It keeps repeating the the hdd is not accessible and that the premeter is incorrect .I Don’t recommend anyone to buy this corrupted piece of junk just save your money and buy a seagate one. :(

Buen disco, rápido y silencioso
Venia bien embalado y protegido en una caja con soportes plásticos en los extremos, dejando el HD suspendio en el centro de la caja. El propio disco envuelto en su correspondiente plástico antiestático hermético y con una bolsa antihumedad. Lo he montado para clonar un Seagate Barracuda de 750 Gb, que con 5 años estaba mostrando sintomas de deterioro, casi pierdo los datos. El clonaje ha sido rápido en 2 particiones, la partición del SO "C" y la de respaldo del fabricante "PQSERVICE" con el sistema operativo y los drivers. La partición D me dió fallo de clonaje por deterioro del disco primitivo. Pero compiando los archivos por carpetas he recuperado todo excento un archivo. El programa usado XXClone free, muy bueno y gratis. Llevo con el Western Blue de 1TB solo 3 semanas, y de mometo va estupendamente, rápido y poco ruido. No me hada dado ningún problema.

Reliable drive
Drive is good, proved to be fail-safe and efficient. Mine arrived from third-party seller not being entirely new (it was removed from server/nas/etc) and repacked. 1TB version is definitely more reliable. Though I can't recommend Amazon delivery as they surely throw it dozen times on the floor and it will be packed into cheap cardboard and a plastic bag, which definitely doesn't increase drive lifespan.

Reliable hard drive
Sadly, these things are no longer as available as they used to be. They represent some of the best technology of our time, known for their durability and reliability. While they may not meet the speed requirements for modern tasks due to more demanding Windows versions and fast SSDs, they can still serve as affordable backup drives for PCs, NAS devices and CCTV DVR/NVRs. These WD drives last a good 8 to 8 years, depending on usage.
