Q: Does this actually dispense cold water?

The dispenser doesn’t change the temperature of the water. If your water is in the refrigerator than yes it will dispense cold water. If your water is sitting on the counter top than your water will be room temperature.

Q: How noisy is it? Plan on using in a quiet office setting.

Its not noisy at all. Just the sound of the water being dispensed.

Q: Can this be wired directly to 12V DC in a vehicle?

No. I use mine in a travel trailer. It is plugged into an outlet in the trailer, which goes to an inverter, the inverter being attached to a 12V DC car battery. HOWEVER, it comes with a DC battery pack. If you put 8AA batteries into the pack (it might be 12 AA bateries, I don’t recall off hand) and plug the pack into the faucet instead of AC power plug I think you’ll have what you need. In other words, it runs on DC power if you use the battery pack, but probably not directly to a car battery.

Q: does product have to be sterilized like other pumps? they are a tedious task

We recommend cleaning the water pump before the first use to ensure cleanliness.
