Starts with the easier songs, is complete and fun and it's fun to turn the pages and find a more difficult song. It's good to have easier songs to begin with since it's frustrating enough to just get your fingers to move.

My 6 yr old son started learning piano this year in Feb., he had finished one beginner book and I gave him this one for fun. He's able to sight read most of the songs and start playing the melody already. He's working on the more technical skills such as playing the slurs.. and mf, mp, staccato and this one provide a great number of work for him to practice. This is a very easy beginner book once they start to learn how to read music. Most of the songs he had already know and the melodies are attractive enough (ie. Can Can) to keep him practice and practice. He just started to play "Skip to my Lou " on Monday and within 3 days, he's able to play 90% of the songs correctly. I would strongly recommend this book to young beginner pianist as they know most of these songs by heart already and it's fun to play, easier to learn when they sing with the lyrics in there also.Also, great practice book for working on clapping rhythm and note values which will be important preparing for prep. A exam.

Great to have letters inside the notes to help beginner students - for both right hand and left hand. Lots of well known tunes in simple arrangements, which are easier to play than in most so-called 'easy' or even 'very easy' books'. With large print as well, it's ideal for keeping kids interested and focused. Luckily you can 'look inside' the book before you buy, as I did, to see how simple it is. I actually felt compelled to write this review after reading the only other review, which is so different to my experience of the book that I wonder if they've confused it with another one.
